    Very good quality. Very impressive

First entrance, late afternoon: No one answered the door or bell, only when I used my phone to call the hotel, then I was able to enter. This late shift reception staff, gentleman was a little hostile with little humility nuance. A little early morning noise, but this maybe where the position of the building where I was sleeping was in.

Morning reception staff gentleman, impeccable. Breakfast wonderful. Location wonderful. Back view wonderful. Very comfortable and clean bed and room.

Small niggles but not enough to make a complaint. Crumbs on top of toaster - which I easily cleaned off. No iron or dishwasher tablets. (Welcome book did state these were included.- staff gave me an iron when we asked for one - I went and bought washing up liquid which I left for the next guest).. Bed bases had muddy marks - again easily wiped off.

Friendly staff. Great privacy. Quiet area. Bar had great opening hours and prices ok. Near to city centre. Lovely grounds to sit and relax. Cottage a good size.

The rooms and facilities are quite dated

Location is pretty good, 20 minutes walk to the center. Hotel has also a nice garden which we could not enjoy due to the cold weather. Full English breakfast was lovely

We arrived at night and due to there being individual apartments with similar frontage as the hotel it was a little confusing at first to identify the hotel entrance due to the entrance signage not being illuminated.

Clean, comfortable and quiet. Staff were welcoming and helpful.

Internet very slow and TV useless as most channels didn’t work and couldn’t find an iron.

Cottage upgraded. Nice place except wifi was down a lot of the time and TV was useless with no or little connection. Heating took long to warm up but once sorted was very warm. Kitchen was self catering, which is understandable but didn’t realise that meant no salt or pepper or oil was there either. Otherwise loads of parking for free and not far from town. Dont need to worry about parking in some dubious car park.

I had a few mobility problems but the hotel weren’t at fault: i could have mentioned something at booking stage.

I particularly like this property: the staff are always helpful and the building has a lot of character which the owners have maintained whilst keeping it functional

My only fault was that the showers in both bathrooms needed maintenance. They were both hot enough, with a good flow of water, but both needed the hoses to be replaced as both leaked causing water to gush down the hose. This was only a minor concern and I reported it to reception upon leaving.

The cottage was comfortable, spacious and well equipped. It was relaxing, and the freedom to come and go without having to go through reception was great. It was also excellent that there was private and dedicated parking right outside the cottage as I am disabled.

Hotel is a bit shabby round the edges but the price and service was great so I’m not complaining.

Best breakfast, great selection and variety plus they did me some gluten free toast so couldn’t have asked for a better breakfast. Huge room for our family of four, comfy beds and everything was clean.

Furniture was quite old, chair covers were ripped or torn due to age, sofa was having stains and dog hairs on it.

Decor and fittings a bit old fashioned. Only one lamp so if you are using the room as a double, one person wouldn’t have access. Bath over the shower but no curtain so hard to not get water everywhere. Toilet flush mounted upside down so difficult to flush. The room is near the boiler or something (room 10) so very noisy at times especially at 10.30pm

Lovely old building, very nice amenities and hospitality tray and great breakfast. Personnel friendly and helpful. Car park great

Shower was unusable. If I had stayed longer would have been a massive problem- you could only have pressure or heat (not the two) so took a good 10 minutes to wash my hair barely adequately. We had a ladybird infestation in our bathroom which was amusing to us, but would annoy other people. Heating was on constantly and throughout the building which seemed very unnecessary and we had to open the windows in March.

Friendly reception staff, beautiful garden and great location, bed was super comfortable and the whole place was very characterful. Decent breakfast options too.
