Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe breakfast offering is poor for a hotel at this price point. A bit makeshift, with a limited choice and a fiddly 'make your own tea' set-up. We've had better breakfasts at Premier Inns.
This is a very good city centre hotel, with easy access to all facilities. Big, comfortable room (we upgraded, for not that much, to a suite), great bed, and fresh milk in the fridge is a nice touch. A special shout-out to Daria in the Bubbles bar, who gave great advice on the lunch menu (and the food was excellent too). Parking is a 10 minute walk (from car to reception) at Snow Hill station, and £18 for 24 hours, so something to factor in.

United KingdomSome areas were VERY dark! Corridors not well lit, bar area was quite busy when we arrived but service was very slow. The location was great in terms of being in the centre, but really noisy at night! There were kids in the room above us who sounded like baby elephants stomping around the room from about 6 am onwards, slamming doors and screaming, parents should really be more considerate of other guests when staying in hotels with children! I would never have allowed my child to behave in that way when away from home so early in the morning disturbing others. Also, breakfast in the morning, plates were delivered promptly and were hot, sadly the food on them was almost completely cold! I’ve experienced hot food on plates many times but never cold food on boiling hot plates! This needs addressing then overall breakfast experience would be great!
Great location, rooms large and well equipped although toilets in the bedrooms need replacing, lids are scratched and they look grubby! Nice bathroom products, extremely comfy beds and pillows

United KingdomBreakfast and add on's extraordinary expensive, no gym or spa which for a hotel such as this I would of expected. Door slamming on corridor needed the closer fixed properly, kept us awake. Small things but coffee and tea making - no light in the cupboard so couldn't see what you were doing even with room lights on, also would of expected a mini fridge.
Location was excellent, decor and attention to detail, cleanliness was good. Grand feel to hotel, comfortable and spacious.

United KingdomThe main problem was that the bed was much too short. We were in a classic room, and the bed base and headboard overlapped the mattress meaning that the mattress available was much too short. There was an end on the bed as well so we couldn't stretch out. It meant I kept waking up all night every time I tried to stretch my legs in my sleep. You'd need to be about 5'5" or smaller to sleep in this bed comfortably. The annoying thing is that this must be a known issue and these bedframes obviously need replacing, we can't be the first people to discover this. Hotel du Vin management need to replace these asap for beds that are actually big enough to sleep in! A shame because everything else about the stay was very nice.
Nice atmosphere, friendly staff. Room was spacious. Reception staff member gave us a voucher for a free drink at the bar which was a nice touch.

United Kingdom£44 for the breakfast on arrival was a bit pricy when it was £24 online - I didn’t pre book as I wasn’t sure whether my other half wanted a breakfast or not.
The breakfast was lovely ordered from the menu and lots to chose from at the continental. I couldn’t fault the drinks either, fresh juice, water or a selection of hot drinks.

United KingdomI stayed on the second floor, very close to the entrance door from the landing. This door did NOT have a soft close, it was slamming shut constantly throughout the late evening and night. Not conducive to a good nights sleep. My show screen also not great, the seal at the bottom clearly did not work. Once out of the shower, I noticed it has flooded most of the bathroom floor. Both problems reported to reception when I checked out.
The staff were very welcoming and helpful. My room was good, lovely large bed, very comfortable. A decent sized desk for me to work at. Bathroom was nice, lovely big bath. Breakfast was also very good.
