The breakfast arrangements appeared to be geared for the large group staying at the hotel. There was plenty of cooked food laid out at the buffet style breakfast but not enough non cooked food. There was only one four slice toaster and kept running out of bread as well as fruit and yogurt. Perhaps asking guests to prebook either cooked or continental would ensure sufficient food was available.

Superb location and beautiful setting overlooking the river Tweed and Dryberg abbey. Saw another in the river.

Unfortunately, outwith the control of hotel there was a power cut and no means of presenting a meal until after 9 am which is too late for elderly folk.

    Helpful staff. Comfortable bed

Quality of food was mediocre. Ate once in restaurant and had to wait 1 1/4 hours for small piece of 'Cajun Chicken' to be served.. Limited menu. Cooked breakfast items were poor.

Relaxed atmosphere, beautiful location, helpful staff.

The service at dinner was a little slow (an hour and a half for two courses?) and the room was a little shabby.

The setting is unparalleled in the Borders. The staff were friendly and warm.

Would like to see more choices on the dinner menu please. Also things seemed to 'run out' at breakfast time - no grapefruit, no croissants etc.

The televisions were too small by today’s standards.

Nestled at the end of a country lane, this hotel was a delightful experience. The location was idilic and the hotel itself presented a traditional elegance. The staff were courteous and went out of their way to please. We were very happy with the whole experience and we would certainly stay there again if visiting the Borders.

There is no facility to help get out of the tub after a shower (grab handle for example) so it's tricky.

The booking system worked, the hotel is archeological lovely in a beautiful location and the staff are friendly. What's not to like?

Not a big deal, but there are opportunities to reduce the use of plastic. A greater choice of fruit at breakfast would be welcome. Otherwise, overall provides a great service.

Top marks for the friendly and very helpful staff. We really like and appreciated having a room with plenty of space and a good view. Plus it had a comfortable bed. The hotel is located in beautiful countryside and not too far from the small Borders towns with their small independent shops and places of interest.

Waited an hour to get served having placing dinner order. The restaurant was busy but as the wait was exceptional we should have been advised and offered some nibbles would have been a nice gesture. Next evening when restaurant was quiet we were served in 15 minutes.
