Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandThe walls are very thin so you can hear everything. Unfortunately we had in the room next to us someone who snores very loudly keeping us awake most of the night
Room had everything we needed

United KingdomBreakfast wasn’t included in the price.
Great location for exploring wider Inverness area. Popular with families and walkers. There is a cafe, restaurant, ice cream shop and 2 gift shops on site. Short walk into the village for small village shop, gift shop and a couple of restaurants. The room was lovely although walls were a bit thin and could hear neighbours at times. Staff were nice. Plenty of parking on site. The restaurant was nice but we felt it was a bit overpriced for the quality of the main courses we received but the starters and desserts were fab. We felt it was a bit expensive for room only although we left it really late to book which may have limited the options available.

United KingdomThe bar/restaurant weren't open on Wednesday night, and with it being a little village, a big dissapointment to a great day out on Loch Ness. There was a pub in village thankfully, offering good Food (The fiddlers rest) breakfast in cafe was fairly priced, though booking.com breakfast price is very out of date. Gin distillery was perfectly located next door, with free samples on offer. Great flavours for a newly set up.
Spacious room, good shower, clean & tidy. Free parking.

United KingdomWalls are paper thin, but I imagine most guests are either walking or on tours so unlikely to be partying all night. The place is definitely showing its age. Shower curtain full of mould stains - which I reported, so hopefully now incinerated.
Friendly welcome on arrival; the woman checking me in showed me my room rather than just give directions. Thoughtful. The bed was fairly comfortable. Overall for the price, it wasn't too bad. After reading the reviews, I knew what to expect. Set them low and you'll be happy! The connected Cobb Cafe offered a good continental breakfast and coffee.

AustraliaThe place needs to be refurbished. Rooms were not soundproof and everything from outside and next door could be heard.
This hotel was the most reasonably priced one we could find in this area so it was very basic. Our room was small but beds were comfortable The staff were great. Friendly and helpfu.l

United KingdomThe biggest thing was no mirror in the room for my wife todo her hair and makeup, easy fix, in room 17 above where the kettle was a mirror here would be perfect. Also hook for a dressing gown in the bathroom door would be good. But why were the walls painted magnolia when the room was grey? So decor didn’t match accessories
It was newly decorated and the room was very nice. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom facilities were good. I liked the fact that the blind was built into the window and kept most of the light out.

NetherlandsThere was a weird smell when we entered the room, but once we opened the windows it went away.
The host was nice and cheerful, the location was good, right in the center of Drumnadrochit and many cute touristy stores around it. Coffee and tea was included, and the shower/bed were nice and comfortable.

United KingdomI booked a budget single room and, for the money, it was serviceable. The room was rather tired. Breakfast was expensive (£15.95 for cooked without cereal). It provides good budget accommodation to see the area.
