A lot of the properties are very close to each other so it is overlooked. A larger decking area at the lounge end of the lodge would be good with patio doors added to enjoy an outdoor space more effectively. Plus a gate on the steps to keep dogs securely on the decking.

It was in good condition with everything we needed and was roomy enough for 3 adults.

The only downside was the shower cubicle needs new sealant and blinds in the bedrooms for privacy.

It was for us not easy to find the place, the map of the area that I got from host was not fine enough, i sort of had to guess. I called the number for emergency that I was given with the map, a lady who answered the phone said "I can not do anything untill tomorrow morning, can you contact booking.com" I was upset as I was with 2 young children in the area of this place! Well turned out that I was in front of another number 21. The place was great, but wish there was a dishwasher detergent(there were dishwasher tablets) Shower's drain was blocked but we all preferred bath, so it was not a big problem for us. I did write a lot here but overall it was a great stay.

Compared to other places we’ve stayed, this was perfect for few reasons: nice and clean, spacious, quiet, bright and warm, towels provided, handwash and items like salt and pepper, bed very comfortable, 2 toilets/bath, very close to Ilfracombe, games like cards and other types provided, space outside for kids to play with bubbles, outside table and b&q table, etc etc

The lodges seem very tightly packed in Unfortunately one of the neighbours was drilling early in the morning which was annoying but not any fault of Driftwood lodge

With growth there is building work but it’s a necessity to upgrade and improve. It’s worth it.

Location was great. 7 minute drive to the beach. The park was laid out well. Looks like it’s growing with new properties. The restaurant was good value. We increased our stay to stay longer.

Email, stated incorrect lock key code. Waited 30 mins for someone to call back to give correct key code. A large amount of mould in the shower. Towels were dirty. Bedding was dirty. The whole property felt like it wasn’t cleaned. Bed was uncomfortable. Would not recommend or stay at this property again. Not value for money.

The cleanliness let the property down which is so sad because everything else was great. There was dog hair and dust all over the lounge/dining room floor, the windows were dirty as was the veranda and door mat, covered in mud and grass before we’d even opened the front door. There was hair in my son’s bed, and the bathroom hand towels were visibly dirty. the lodge smelt slightly of damp even though the windows had been left ajar to air the property out. There was also no hand soap in the bathrooms, yes we could have and did use the soap in the kitchen but for a family of 3 who obviously use toilets at different times having to fetch it and take it in to each bathroom was inconvenient and unhygienic. One might argue does the property need to be spotless and 100% clean if it’s just somewhere to rest your head at night but for me the answer will always be yes. Especially as a disabled person myself and with one child who has severe allergies and another with asthma, being in a clean environment is essential. At the times we needed to rest indoors the last thing you want is to look out of dirty windows, seeing cobwebs all over the veranda and dog fur and dust all over the floors. Yes I could have cleaned it myself (I did sweep up and mop what I could on our first night but I shouldn’t have had to and after a very long motorway drive I just wanted to get my kids fed and into bed so we could wake up and start enjoying our little holiday this is why I didn’t call for someone to come to the lodge to clean it when we arrived, the evening was getting on and we were exhausted. Despite this one complaint I’d like to think it was a one off occurrence as the reviews in the guest book are all wonderful. We’d definitely book to come back again.

The location was beautiful and the lodge itself was a wonderful size. It was light and spacious and loved the addition of the guest book. Thank you! <3
