Very well appointed room, modern bathroom. Bed was very comfortable. Slightly smaller than I had hoped, but adequate for my needs.

There's quite a big step up to the balcony, would be really useful if a step stool was provided instead of climbing on the chair.

Great customer service, everyone was very friendly. The room service was very good too, lovely cocktails and breakfast. The best part was the amazing view of Brighton!

Some bits are looking a little worn in places, understand things are all being updated in stages though. Once done this will look as spic and span as any place likely to stay in Brighton.

Location is amazing, the sea front room with bath in front of the window looking out over the pier was superb. Breakfast was well cooked. Wide range of drinks and cocktails in the bar. All staff were friendly and helpful, I can't praise them enough.

The cleaning staff put a piece of furniture against my evening dress, which damaged the silk fabric. The room assigned to me had no 'city view' at all but a basement one with limited privacy

The staff were friendly and helpful. The provision of a bath robe, green toiletries, and coffee bag exceeded the usual four star hotel standard in the UK.

The weather

We were greeted with a high level of friendliness and catered for extremely well. Check-in was straight forward and quick. Our room was spacious/very clean and had a cosy feel yet was not claustrophobic, 10/10 would visit again!

Loved everything about Drakes! The king size rooms were amazing, thoughtfully designed and the atmosphere was so relaxed, location was ideal - really loved it. Perfect for a birthday treat for my partner.

Only constructive criticism in room was table on wheels could’ve been better maybe with two small tables and a waste paper bins either side of bed would be nice touch! Everything else was perfect!

The noise. The noise from the road is loud, as if you got a window open. You got no chance of having a lay in or proper sleep because of it.

Room was as shown. Very unique and amazing place to relax with a great sea view.

I genuinely cannot think of anything that wasn't to like

The hotel was so close to the Pier and all the action. It was very stylish and very clean and all the staff were so helpful and pleasant. When we got to our room we were so happy so see a bathtub next to the bed. Rock star ✌️ We would definitely recommend this hotel and will be booking to stay again when we come back. 10/10

Wet room not my thing having wet toilet seat and sink when showering Pillows either way too big or too small and flat Aircon was banging if we turned it off at night so had to sleep with it on

Fabulous location looking over the waterfront, yet very quiet in rooms. Welcoming, helpful, gracious staff. Very comfortable room/bed (in the 'attic') with excellent amenities. The duel shower/sink/toilet was our first experience with this set up (compact space) but it worked surprisingly well. Stairs are steep and narrow and while not an issue for us, might pose challenges for those with mobility issues.

Lack of a lift - it’s a long way to the top floor! Windows could do with double glazing.

One of the first boutique hotels and something of a standard bearer for the breed. Stylish, comfortable, great location and lovely staff (and fellow guests). This is our third visit and we’d struggle to stay anywhere else in Brighton.
