Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomApparentely the hotel is under new management. I have used this hotel numerous times in the past and was not charged for parking. Now they want £9.00 a day I will have to think twice before I use this hotel again as there are others who do not charge a parking fee nearby.

United KingdomFurnishings are a little dated, the carpets are well worn and windows did not work properly and the room did occasionally smell a little damp (from the bathroom). At the time of my stay only 1 lift was working but this didn't really affect me. No Gym or Pool (which I thought there was from various images online).
The standard double room I stayed in was of a reasonable standard. Good TV plenty of sockets in the room, including near the bed. The staff were very friendly and were accommodating of most requests. Location is central and easy to walk to nearby places.

United KingdomThe carpet on the stairs was threadbare in places, though I guess that most guests use the lift! Some furniture in the room was rather shabby - the desk had a piece of veneer missing and was chipped. However, the room was clean and comfortable.
Staff were very welcoming and accommodated my bike, locking it securely in the conference room! The breakfast was delicious and unexpected, as on-line it said continental, but I was able to have a full cooked breakfast, which I needed as I was going to cycle 42 miles over hills that day.

United KingdomLifts can't carry more than one (in fact lift - the other was out of order). Very tired decor throughout, especially rooms (threadbare carpets to main stairs). Room walls splattered with spilt coffee - not just a drop or two, more like a cup or two, or three even. Room facilities poor, from tea/coffee right through to window not functioning correctly. Air con non existent. Not a great place to be full stop. Wouldn't recommend in the slightest, even at half the price.
Not a great deal tbh. Breakfast ok. Good location though 😉

United KingdomLifts weren't working on arrival but soon were fixed. Neighbours were loud and smoking in room but as soon as the fire alarms went off, they no longer smoked! Unfortunately the whole hallway stank.
Location is great although loud being in a city.

United KingdomThe breakfast was not great, as the coffee machine was not working, and no reduction in the price of £10 each was offered. Also the bacon was very dry and everything in the hot section looked very tired and only warm not hot.

IrelandThe Dragon Hotel is really more of a B&B. I was there on a Friday. I'm beyond the age of looking for a loud music bar or nightclub on a Friday night. But when I returned to the hotel at about 10.20pm, I discovered that thhe hotel did not have a bar, where one could relax with a drink for an hour or two before retiring. I was also looking for somewhere to reat on the Friday evening. There was a Brasseries, which seemed to be attached to the hotel, though it may be independent of the hotel. But when I went there to check the menu, I was told it was closed. I don't know if this was just the Friday I was there, or every Friday. Whiile the hotel's central location is easy to get to, and near the railway station, I found that the traffic noise from early in the morning can interrupt sleep if one is a light sleeper.
I found the staff to be friendly and excellent in every way. When I went for breakfast in the morning, the server was already aware of my food intolerance issue. Brilliant communication, therefore, between reception and the breakfast room.

United KingdomThe hotel itself seemed tired. It was a large hotel but didn't seem to have any character. The windows in our room were bad, one seemed to be jammed shut with mastic of sorts which didn't stop the wind coming in.
The room, after being moved, was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was nice.

United KingdomVery tired looking and and in places dirty. Our room was comfortable but again in need of a bit of tlc The breakfast wasn't good Food was cooked to within an inch of its life and obviously cooked well in advance we had to wait for fresh food to be cooked and even then there wasn't enough to go around. Having stayed at this hotel quite a lot over the years I feel it is struggling which is a shame. Still only one lift working which has been like this for far too long. Come on Dragon hotel !
