Could have been more signage for hotel guests on arrival. Its a large complex and driving in we missed the reception and had to drag luggage back from the car a fair way.

The location was great for a stopover for a night. Good size room which was very comfortable. Used room service which was very efficient and the breakfast which was included was excellent. Lot of sporting facilities which we didnt have time to use but appeared to be very popular. Easy check in/out

Desk lights unable to be plugged in. Jug had to go on floor to plug in. Just a minor change up of furniture would make things more comfortable.

Restaurant was good. Room adequate and could be a lot better with some adjustments.

The rooms were a bit tired looking but that didn't bother us.

The staff were all very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The rooms were huge! Beds were comfortable. We were there for a weekend to enjoy Newbury races so good location. Lovely grounds. Exceptional value for money.

Lovely place to visit if you're a fan of golf or want to be within driving distance from Highclere.
    • Leisure trip
    • Family with young children
    • Triple Room - Manor House
    • Stayed 4 nights

The room was comfortable but the beds were uncomfortable and on wheels that didn't lock, which meant that they were slipping around every time we tried to sit on them. The room was very stuffy with only one window opening a tiny bit so we found ourselves quite hot most of the time (and we had the one little fan on that was provided by the hotel). Ample of cupboard space but the layout could be a lot better. There was 1 chair and the TV was in a position where we were unable to all view it comfortably. Could do with a second bedside table too, as it was a triple room. There were also a lot of spiders around, with several on the ceiling at any one time. Understandably it's an old building but we had housekeeping attend every day but the spiders remained hanging above our heads.

The hotel is within a gorgeous castle-looking building and is in a great location if you want to visit Highclere Castle (about 20 minute drive away). The grounds are also gorgeous but not walkable as there are golfers constantly on it.

It was a room with two beds pushed and linked together. We were hoping for one big mattress to cuddle up. But one of us always got stuck in the middle because the two single mattresses were not the same height and one of us rolled back from the higher part... :o) Sleeping well apart supported a better sleep for me though, so no complaints in the end. *laugh*

Really enjoy everything and I love staying here. Location is perfect and silent and beautiful. The front summer houses have very spacious rooms, so you can spend even the rainiest day in comfort and do a lot inside. Lovely bathroom, lots of windows and daylight in the room. Tea and coffee available. Breakfast is offering a lot of choice and it is a very nicely decorated room with windows to the garden/golf place. All staff we meet and spoke to were lovely, ever so helpful and friendly. That makes _such_ a difference to my day!! Thank you all, from cleaning ladies to breakfast staff and receptionists. <3 So silent at night that I have slept extraordinarily well. It is a place to really wind down and relax.

The rooms and interior could use some revitalising however keeping in mind the age of the property we had no complaints!

The grounds of the hotel are absolutely stunning! The drive through the golf course to the hotel is amazing, we were blessed with good weather throughout our stay and therefore got to enjoy the scenery on offer!
