Slippy in the shower without a non slip mat. Heard a couple of voices in neighbouring room early ~6am, ok for us but I suspect would be noisy at weekends...although earplugs were provided. Could use a couple of shelves for storing clothes.

Comfy bed, large room and bathroom, tea/coffee making facilities with snacks in room, central location. Easy out of hours access although we weren't back late enough to worry about that! Shower pressure was good (overhead rose). Central location.

Some more info on the parking would have been good - and the guy in room next door throwing up from 7am when i only got in at 3 was not appreciated - but no fault of the pub.

Quite central and nice enough area - room was nice - a fan and a bedside lamp would be a good addition however. Staff seemed nice enough - treats in the room were a nice touch

The noise levels of the bars and pubs were mental Louder and later than I thought it would be The room we had was rather warm, and also smelt of smoke due to the chimney bricks running up thru room

When we arrived, we were unable to pay as the pub is closed on a Sunday, and on Monday, they wanted me to pay over the phone. I wasn't comfortable doing that as my card had been stolen at the train station 🙃 In the end, it was sorted. We just paid when we caught someone in the actual pub downstairs, so it all worked out in the end. We we're on the top floor room 3 if me and my husband cracked our head once we did it 100 times lol getting out of our room leading down the stairs. I just want to say there is a sign, but maybe put another one as people leave the room. This is just for advice. Really, the place is lovely, and so are the staff.

It was very clean and the staff were lovely. It’s just that things didn’t quite work. The wi-fi failed completely (and I needed it read up for my meeting the next day) and the fittings - all new - were shoddily made. Ever sensed that alarm as a toilet seat slips when you’re on the loo, or the basin tap that’s not fixed in place so it moves when you try to use it? These are small things, I guess, and I still enjoyed my stay. It wouldn’t take much to fix them and achieve a 10/10 score. Maybe drag the builders back in to sort out their workmanship!

The bed wasn't the most comfortable, there wasn't a mini fridge, but mainly I found the room to be very cold despite trying to turn all the radiators on.

Nice size room, tea section was great. Staff were friendly and the bathroom was lovely.

A bedside table would have been convenient. The stairway was a bit tricky with bags, but the landlord offered help.

Extremely hospitable welcome and every effort was made to please. The location on a town centre street was surprisingly quiet. The room decor was very good.

Can't say there was anything we disliked apart from having to duck when you reach top of staircase ha ha. May have shown the buildings opposite my butt as forgot to shut the blind before having a wee but that was my own fault! May be a bit noisy in the Summer months when back venue is open but hey they supply ear plugs

Supplied cartons of orange juice, biscuits, cake, Tea & Coffee etc even ear plugs (which we did not need to use) pub downstairs was warm & inviting with log fires. Bed was so comfortable we slept really well.

Room on second floor was small but comfortable. Reached by steep staircase with extremely low ceiling so absolutely no if you have any mobility issues or don't want to climb the stairs crouched or on all fours. No restaurant or breakfast option but not an issue as plenty of really good eating options near-by. Very noisy from adjacent bars into the early hours even with windows shut, but that's the price of staying so central. Earplugs were provided in the room!

Reasonably priced and perfectly located for Hertford town centre. Enjoyed the downstairs bar with two open log fires making it very welcoming.

Unfortunately, the walls were paper thin, and I could hear someone in the next room talking on the phone in the middle of the night. The pub was shut when I stayed, and I imagine it would be very noisy if it was open. Also, the bath had no plug!

Very convenient location! The room was large and the bed was comfortable. The en-suite was also large.

Hearing the night porter talking on the phone until the early hours right by my bed wall whilst I was trying to get to sleep was not ideal (he wasn't doing this on purpose, just unfortunate), and the broken television left in the corner of the room underneath the working TV. The TV channels needed to be re-scanned as well, previously they were not working. The decor is tired and needs a decoration in my view but considering the price (almost half of Hertford House for a similar room), you get what you pay for. I was also quite worried for the owners that two brand new TVs were just sitting by the common rear entrance, with some delivered Amazon packages - you're far too trusting!

Spacious room with large bed, desk, lots of pillows, and large bathroom. Blackout blinds, supplied water, juice, and snacks should you need them.

We were woken at around 1am by another visitor as they had some water leaking in their room. We were too worried to use the shower or bath in the morning so had to wait until we got home. Toilet seat was also wobbly.

Friendly staff. Great location, was able to walk just a couple of minutes to restaurants and bars. Event on that night was finished at a good time and there was no noise or trouble. Room was lovely and clean, comfy bed and lots of complimentary snacks and drinks. Great check in / out times didn’t feel rushed or waiting around.

Another room had a leak & had a plumber in our room trying to find out where it was from so couldn't get ready to go out. Then discovered we had no hot water so had to have a cold shower before going out which wasn't ideal, but was back working in the morning

Not being told the premises was closed on a Monday! The quilt was very thin and not warm enough and there was no spare blankets ! Nobody around felt very isolated and in attended!
