Although the quality of the breakfast is good, we did find the Cumberland sausage coils disappointing and quite tasteless. No Rice Crispies were offered among the cereals. The little public lounge is very small and we weren’t tempted to use it.

Hotel is very nicely appointed and spotlessly clean. Our room was on the top floor, so something of a toil up the stairs! It also had a skylight rather than a conventional window with a proper view, which we would have preferred. The bathroom was pleasantly spacious. Breakfast was good but it is something of a draw back to have to choose options the previous evening, although presumably this is dictated by the limited numbers of staff in a relatively small hotel. The breakfast room is comfortable and attractive, with tables well spaced. The staff we met (only two) were very friendly and pleasant, Lilian in particular helping to make our stay very enjoyable. Car park is very convenient, with good sized parking bays, much better than the norm!

The location was quiet and only a 5 minute walk from the town. Breakfast was very good. The property was beautifully decorated and extremely clean. The staff were very friendly. The parking was excellent. We would definitely stay here again.

Very clean. Friendly and helpful staff. Within easy walking distance of centre of Ambleside. Plenty of free parking directly in front of hotel. Excellent breakfast, with plenty of choice, plus a pre-order system for individual items, so you can have as much or as little as you want. Ideal for a couple spending a weekend in the Lakes

Perfect location to the centre of Ambleside (5min) stroll and the stunning Lakes District. Wonderful, friendly, helpful and welcoming staff. Bedroom and bathroom were well appointed, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious, plenty of food, with fresh coffee and teas. They catered easily to my vegan requirements. Parking provided made life easy. We just can’t fault this lovely accommodation. Special extra thank you to the staff who helped me our departure, you are so kind, and caring.

We stayed 2nd floor in the attic which had little natural light. Electric sockets floor level so had to kneel down to plug appliances in.

We were given an early check in for our bags so we could go off for the day walking which was really helpful. Nothing was too much for the helpful smiley staff both in the dining room and housekeeping. They chilled our wine all day and put it in our room with an ice bucket and glasses. So helpful.

I’ve have stayed here a number of times and they are always consistent with all positive comments made above. No dislikes or complaints. Though I did find the room door a little heavy to open, I assume this was a fire door which would justify the nesesity.

Perfect location close to town with on site secure parking. Extremely clean and comfortable. Good breakfast and service. Excellent Wi-Fi and mini fridge in room. Would defiantly stay again and recommend.

Unfortunately the shower in our suite was broken and so we were unable to use the rainfall showerhead, which would’ve made the stay faultless.
