Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomBreakfast was a real disappointment. Our previous visit had breakfast in a different room and I remember much better on several levels. This time, although room was very nice, the service was less nice. Staff appeared less than enthusiastic. Language seemed a problem with most staff members - not just in the dining room. They didn't seem very happy and the efficiency just wasn't there. Food choices were limited and plates for cooked breakfasts were stone cold. Tea and coffee weren't brought to the table. One vending machine was situated at the end of the restaurant which meant queuing up for a drink every time. Saucers, cups and tea spoons were not all together so people were all bumping into each other trying to find stuff and the hot water flask for tea kept running out. Restocking of food wasn't immediate or quick. Some people were given a menu for other options like different eggs other than scrambled, but not once were we offered one. Pastries weren't always fresh. It was disappointing for a 4 star hotel to have somewhat of a bun fight at breakfast. Reception staff didn't seem to have any local knowledge like which side of the road to wait for the bus right outside the hotel. Surely reception staff should be trained for such things. As our flight home had been delayed, we decided to have an afternoon tea in the hotel before going to the airport. The tea was wonderful, including my gluten free option. Chef was obviously very good. However we were quite disappointed to have to listen to the banter between staff looking after the terrasse bar and restaurant. The language was quite colourful, shall we say, including f**king and s**t, and no attempt to keep it quiet. Constant moaning about being asked to do certain work. Again, not what you expect from a 4 star hotel at those prices. I would suggest much better training and more management presence!
We really liked our room. Spacious, well equipped and clean. Perfect for access to the spa. Enormous bathroom with bath and walk in shower. Plenty of towels and shower gel etc. Coffee and tea making facilities and also iron/board. Air-conditioning also handy as weather quite warm during our stay. Spa was very nice with pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. Plenty of sun beds indoor and out. Lovely changing facilities with all amenities.

United KingdomVery expensive guest pass prices. Wanted to bring my godchildren swimming with us and they wanted £20 each which is extortionate. They're 10 and 12 years old.
Good quality and plentiful range of hot choices, continental, fruit and pastries.

JerseyThe only thing we thought that let down the stay was the breakfast, the hot breakfast, bacon was over cooked, mushrooms were far too peppery. I assumed it was a full English however there was no hash browns, beans, black pudding. Other than that everything else at the hotel was fabulous!
Staff were impeccable couldn’t be more accommodating. Facilities of the spa were out of this world. Bed extremely comfortable. Lunch at the restaurant was lovely. Loved that when you booked through booking.con you got a complimentary glass of wine per person.

United KingdomThe Coffee Shop aspect of the Hotel Desk! I tried the Green Smoothie, which didn't go down too well. Nothing else.
I'm fairly Ancient, so didn't use all the facilities, but, my working life was spent in and out of Hotels all over the World. This Hotel is based on many others, and I rate it highly!

United KingdomThe weather, which as it was December was to be expected, and the climb up to the entrance.
Our Rooms were lovely, and my two (adult) children enjoyed the pool. The breakfasts were great . We had most of our meals at the hotel and the food was excellent. We spent three nights at the hotel, having booked as we were going to a relatives funeral. After not looking forward to our visit, we actually really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Thank you.

United KingdomThe mattress and the pillows need an update.
the spa facilities were amazing, only downside the steam room was out of service. Breakfast had a good selection of different options and there was variety. Room, was on the small side and could do with a harder mattress. The staff were polite and helpful.

GermanyIt´s hard to say anything negative about the hotel. One could argue if a second coffee machine at the breakfast room would be helpful. Furthermore, the bar does not exactly have the atmosphere of a true bar, as it is a combination of a (very good!) restaurant and a place where you can have a drink in the late evening. As I had dinner at the restaurant several times and being on my own, I wasn´t seeking a cosy bar anyway.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is beautiful. The breakfast exceeded my expectations. Also, I enjoyed the spa very much. Please note that the hotel is located on a hill about 1 km away from the busy city center. And even though St. Saviour´s Rd. is very busy too, the hotel rooms are absolutely quiet, so don´t worry about traffic noise at all. If you are German like me don´t forget to bring an adapter for you phone or laptop (otherwise, the staff will help you out).
