Lovely, relaxing stay with pool and gym.

Some of the common areas are looking a bit worn but this did not spoil anything.

This was a repeat visit. The location is good with lovely grounds, a big park next door and easy driving access to Glasgow. All the staff were lovely, the room was very comfortable and well equipped, and I made good use of the gym and swimming pool. Since our last visit, breakfast has a self service buffet option in addition to waitress service and there were fresh water (still and sparking) stations on each floor. We will stay in the hotel again.

Having asked specifically for a king size bed, it’s not acceptable to have a king size base and two single mattresses on top. A king size mattress is essential. Having to push mattresses together frequently is extremely annoying. The WiFi reception was atrocious.

The property is beautiful, 5 minutes out of town and you’re in the country. The property itself could do with upgrading for price you’re paying.

The bathroom shower leaked all over the bathroom floor. Seal wasn’t sealed properly. The bed base was not aligned. No ordinary tea bags in the room. No pint glasses left, due to an event being on. Fire alarm went off at midnight, all guests were out in the corridor. Staff managed to shout down the corridor yet didn’t come down to reassure guests. Breakfast area was far too busy. The staff couldn’t cope. We had to ask for glasses, then plates, however food was replenished quickly but staff seemed stressed. Reception staff member spoke so loud as we were leaving that the hen party waiting stopped to listen. At the dinner table £60 was taken off our bill despite us telling the waitress we did not have a voucher to use. So on leaving we were asked to pay the £60 which we knew would happen however felt quite embarrassed, almost like we were trying to steal despite disputing it the night before. A bit of a disjointed visit.

We liked the setting & location. Nice atmosphere. Evening meal was delicious & well presented.

Lovely hotel in need of some investment to address the tired looking appearance inside the hotel.

Convenience of staying at the hotel rather than driving home after attending a sportsman's dinner.

Housekeeping service could be improved - on different days little things were missing, eg only decaf coffee in the room on one day, only one towel provided for two of us on another, broken soap dispenser in the shower, duvet cover too small for the bed on the first day.

    The location and food.

The spa was really busy couldn't get a seat to sit on and the sauna was very cramped . The water in the pool was cloudy too. We stayed on a Saturday night but was very busy with outdoor guests.

The room was a good size albeit a little dated but it adds character! Room was spotless. Enjoyed breakfast in the room for an extra charge. The spa facilities were included for the price. We didn't eat at the restaurant as didn't fancy any of the meals.

Bathroom had broken tile that was screwed back onto wall, flush for toilet stuck down and had to pull it back up each time to use it. Cocktail bar was cold and had no atmosphere, no background music and was only bar that was open. Breakfast was nice but only scrambled eggs available and asked if they had fried eggs and was told no only scrambled even though fried egg was given as option if ordering for room service.

Room was good size, heating easy to adjust and was clean. Plenty of parking available. Nice breakfast

Leaking toilet, wet carpet and damp smell in room. Rooms and public areas badly in need of renovation. Restaurant service ridiculous. Waited 45 minutes and had to ask 3 times before we even got water! Even longer wait for food and wine.

Dinner ordering and serving was somewhat chaotic. Vegetarian options proved difficult to confirm due to staff mix ups over what was available and where in the hotel - restaurant and/or bar. The meal was ultimately very nice, but spoiled by the stress of dealing with the confusion. The staff were all very pleasant, but not fully on top of things and providing mixed messages.

The hotel is well situated in lovely grounds and close to East Kilbride facilities.

We only had breakfast at the hotel and had to wait a while for a table due to insufficient staff. By the time we left the dining room there must have been 20 people queuing for a table. There were also 2 dogs in a room near us which barked for a long time as their owners had gone to the pool and they were unsupervised - this is not acceptable

The room was a good size and the steam room/sauna were good. The breakfast buffet was plentiful

Breakfast was good. Good English breakfast choices. Major down side and the only reason I won't be returning is dinner. Buffet dinner would have been a more satisfying option. Hubby & I were restricted to £25 each. I had to pay for my 10 year old. Would have preferred paying for an all inclusive meal. I found calculating and paying for extra abit too much. Gothic decor was on point. I couldn't take enough pictures with my girls. I loved the ambience and it was a Christmas well spent. Members of the staff were friendly and helpful, exceptionally polite. Thank you guys. I chose well.
