Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We’re currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil, and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe restaurant was really cold, to the extent we asked staff if they could please turn up the heating but it wasn't turned up at all and it was seriously cold during our meal unfortunately.

United KingdomBit of a lukewarm reception. No atmosphere in any of the public spaces, felt a bit like a ghost town. The hotel in general is in need of a refurb - obvious decorative damage from water leaks in public areas, the pool changing rooms were bleak to say the least - broken lockers, horrid flooring, unappealing shower area. Our room was clean but very 90s in terms of decor and fixtures.
Breakfast was great - a huge buffet selection on offer. Breakfast staff were friendly and helpful. The beds were comfy and the room was very clean. The gardens were immaculate.

United KingdomNo prior notice on website of pool changing room disruption. Room functioning issues - TV didn’t work, table lamp could not work as wrong plug type. Sink hand wash bottle was labelled shampoo. No access to male changing room at pool. Alternative use of bedrooms for this purpose was impractical. Parents allowed to wear outdoor shoes poolside at swimming lesson class which overlapped with an aqua gym class for some time.
Comfortable bed & good well prepared and presented food. The prices of the dishes were a little more than expected.

United KingdomThe room was very dusty and smelt like it hadn't been aired in a while. There were two loose electrical sockets and some fittings in the bathroom that were loose and needed attention. Breakfast time was chaos, not enough tables to accommodate all diners so we were asked to go and sit in the lounge area for 10 minutes until we were called. We sat for over 45 minutes before being taken to our seats, and by this time the buffet was running low (both with food and glasses/cups). Staff were unapologetic, and seemed to be all over the place and not sure what to do next. It was as if no one was taking charge of the situation, it definitely lacked clear direction.
The hotel is set in a beautiful setting, up a windy country drive just outside of East Kilbride. The hotel is a grand old building, with loads of period features. The family room was very well appointed, with two double beds. The room size was great and very spacious. It was great to have a shower in the bath too.

United KingdomThe breakfast was not worth the money. It consisted of food that had clearly been cooked a long time and was just being kept lukewarm. We had to wait 20 minutes to be seated and had to ask for butter, milk and spoons just to eat the basics. There was only 3 and a half slices of toast between 5 of us. My son paid £22 for this for him and his partner and £6 for his daughter. I reckon £10 was what it was worth. Staff need training on basics as exactly the same thing happened when we had dinner the night before we were given bread but no butter and when we asked for butter we weren’t offered a knife so had to ask for that as well. The rest of the service was no better it could be that the staff were new but training
The location was fabulous with spectacular grounds and the entrance etc was very impressive

United KingdomWe had a king room, where two twin beds were pushed together, I kept slipping down the middle, horrible nights sleep. Reception were not clear, lady spoke very fast & just wanted us gone. Pool staff were not helpful either. No tea/coffee in the room either.
Location, facilities, breakfast staff, pool & sauna/steam room were great.

United KingdomMore attention to detail with cleaning especially hoovering. Possibly an anti slip mat in the bathroom as the bath was extremely slippery.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the room was much nicer than last time we stayed so first impression was better. We used the pool facilities which were good. Mens changing rooms were closed but it didn’t bother us or impact our stay. We had a peaceful night sleep, thank you.

United KingdomRoom was rather dusty and lots of cob webs. I called reception to confirm our room had been cleaned as the bedside table had water on it. Cleaning staff were at the room quickly and cleaned up the water and confirmed it had been cleaned. They were very apologetic. The female changing area and toilets in the leisure area in need of an upgrade. Locker lock was busted and the disabled toilet floor was covered in water. There was no shower gel in showers.
The food was lovely and fresh and staff very pleasant.

United KingdomCheck in delayed as room not ready-at 3pm! Room really run down, toilet paper dispenser hanging off the wall, lights not working, cold (heating didn’t work, only bathroom towel rail) Didn’t get the upgrade I requested or informed in advance so we had to walk through the hotel with a towel after swimming as no robes given. Booked a room for 1 adult 1 child half board to be told at dinner that I would need to pay for the child and I had a £30 dinner allowance, when questioned I was told to refer to the t&c’s - booking.com have been requested multiple times to make this clear. Genuinely don’t feel it was worth the money.

United KingdomThe restaurant is lacking something I just can’t put my finger on it… food was ok for what it was but nothing special. The restaurant was smelling heavily of fish which was quite off putting so much so we decided to skip breakfast the next morning Bed was two singles together which was fine but it sagged into the middle and kept splitting. The mattress was super comfy but I felt I kept rolling into the middle all night.
Nicely situated out the way in lovely grounds, staff were pleasant and room decent. Swimming and sauna nice and relaxing.

United KingdomOn arrival our tv was not working so this got replaced but that was sorted quick and good service overall , there was allot of handwritten notes inside the ice bucket, and the drawers and bedside drawers of a previous person in that room with negative notes regarding the facilities and complex so these drawers and inside units are not checked before the new party stays within a room. Anyway It didn’t put us off our stay we binned the notes and enjoyed our room and stay .
