Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomOne toilet roll for 3 people for 3 nights and one solitary bin liner. Very loud voices coming from outside 'the snug' next door at 11.30pm, causing dogs to bark and waking my grand daughter up. Shower needs some sort of curtain as it is ruining skirting board that has recently been replaced. Had requested hot tub to be ready to be used upon arrival but temperature was set way too low and had to wait several hours for it to heat up.
Very clean, very well equipped, even with ironing board, iron, drying rack and hair dryer. Private garden and hot tub divine. Beautiful place to stay.

United KingdomEverything was great apart from garden furniture, had been left out in the rain and the chair cushions were green with mossy mould and the umberrela was broken as well. Just took the cushions off the chairs so was ok
Had everything you needed, comfy and a good location. Hot tub was great as well

United KingdomThe fridge needed defrosting. The shower needs repairing as it leaks at the bottom. The parasol was broken and the garden furniture cushions were soaking wet when we arrived. We never used the BBQ, garden furniture or hot tub. Storage box would be good for garden cushions. A pint of milk would have been nice to have in a welcome pack.
It was self catering and the location was very good. The beds were very comfortable and bedding and towels were very good. A few tweaks and it could be the perfect place.

United KingdomAlthough you don’t go on holiday to watch TV . With the weather we encountered we had to stay in a bit the TV reception was so poor kept loosing its signal and was unwatchable . size to small and why it was located so low down was baffling. I think little tweaks would make all the difference and take the lodge from an 8 to a 10

United KingdomNothing. All was perfect.
The lodge is cosy and had everything you need for family holidays. We were able to cook, had barbecue and the most favourite part was relaxing in the jacuzzi. The closeness of the beach was great too.The area was quiet which helped to rest and recharge.

United KingdomSounds worse than it is: No hanging storage in 2nd bedroom, a few door hooks (all doors) and wall hooks would be helpful. The shower is silly - a wet room it is not but, it is without a door on the cubicle. Signs of damp obvious as skirting board has been replaced but is bare wood. Bath mat dripping wet all the time. A drying line outside would help when there are 3 people showering per day. Bathroom sink unnecessarily small. No shelve for toiletries apart from window which cannot be opened to ventilate. TV is tiny and hardy works due to poor ariel signal. Main bedroom curtains a bit thin and not very dark in there.
Nice location, sufficient parking, hot tub and outside seating nice. Biscuits on arrival a nice touch Location convenient for our trip. Sufficient cooking facilities - small portable Belling type hob/oven, microwave, toaster, kettle, crockety etc for a few days visit but fridge ice box not useable. Good shower. Beds pretty comfortable and area quiet. Good additional facilities provided - iron, hairdryer, drying rack etc.

United KingdomThe bed is a small double, would benefit being a larger double bed, and needs a mattress protector, the TV is very temperamental with signal for stations. It is a bit difficult to find, ignore sat nav , takes you down unadopted road, but a quick call and all sorted , we found it!
The private hot tub was lovely, especially after a 20 mile hike! Not far from town, but far enough out of the way, short 10 minute stroll. Very comfortable and well equipped with cutlery, plates and coffee etc, everything you need for self catering and all very clean. A washing machine and dishwasher, microwave, fridge and small hob and oven which worked perfectly . We will be back.

United KingdomWould have preferred blinds on the doors. Hot tub was lovely but but too hot in day when we went in it but unable to as just temperature. Plus we were reluctant to push cover completely off hot tub as was dirty on ground but was fine as was only 2 of us. TV was bit hit and miss with signal.
Love the design of Cromwell lodge. Really cosy and comfortable. Well located to shops and beach. Shower was lovely. Bed a. It soft for us but still comfy. Would definitely return

United KingdomThe property was unclean in several places with the loo used and pan not cleaned. We did not feel like a full check had been completed prior to check-in..We were missing towels, forks, spoons , wood for the fire (on a very cold night) and low on other essentials/ other items for our first night and the duration of our stay and due to the late check in we did not have the ability to contact anyone via phone as managed by an agent. Sky light in spare room was broken and let light in early in the morning meaning poor sleep . The bathroom window was also locked shut which meant with a fan that didn’t function well we were unable to ventilate the bathroom. It’s also very near to other let’s which means due to being a lodge noise from our neighbours was evident. Clear directions also need to be the let as the postcode takes you to the other end of the road. Again we couldn’t reach the agent due to late check in after 5 so spent ages trying wondering around.
The property is within an excellent location and in really need to the many great pubs, restaurants, and lovely coastal walks
