Good breakfast and evening meal. Traditional yet nicely decorated hotel building. Great location for a stop over on our way to Inverness.

The only slightly negative was our room on the top floor that we had. It is rather hot and the bathroom a bit cramped but ok for 1 night

We have stayed here many times on our way up to Scotland and always enjoyed our stays, the hotel is only a couple of minutes from the motorway and in pleasant grounds. The restaurant is a delightful room and the food excellent and you can eat in the bar if you wish

Nothing to dislike. Very minor issue noisy light/fan in bathroom (room4) but just used mirror light instead

2nd time we’ve stayed here in the last 3 months. Good location very close to A74M junction, friendly staff, terrific breakfast. Rooms are spotless and recently refurbished. Would definitely stay again .

The welcome was so warm and heartfelt and made us so comfortable like we knew him all our life and the staff all the same could not do enough for you. The Room was exceptional and so clean the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in. We had the best sleep imaginable. The meals (Evening and Breakfast) we cannot fault the food or the standard of service way above exceptional. The Bar is superb and friendly atmosphere. How this hotel has only a 3 star rating is beyond me we have stayed in 5 star hotels and cannot compare to this Gem. Will definitely be our number one Hotel whenever we are visiting the area or surrounding locations.

The room was a little dated and their was no lift - not a problem for me to be fair.

Room was lovely, breakfast was great. I had a front facing room which was also lovely with a nice view. Very convenient for a stop off from the Midlands to Northern Scotland.

Would not be appropriate for wheelchair access/shower.

The accommodation for disabled people worked well for us as there were some stairs to climb. The hosts rearranged our rooms to allow us better access. Food was excellent; helpings large though. Room was warm, the first autumn frosts had arrived! Host gave us some excellent ideas for our time in the region. The Devils Porridge Museum was very sobering around war and the impact on Civilians.

We had a standard room, and although the bed linen was lovely quality, the bed itself was extremely hard and uncomfortable

It was beautifully clean, warm and welcoming. Drinks and food were both very reasonably priced and the evening meal in the restaurant was excellent Breakfast was superb and the staff were all friendly and efficient

It’s a tiny bit run down/ older but I would stay here again. Staff were very nice. Good breakfast, bed was comfortable.

Excellent location about half way point between london and Oban, great overnight spot close to motorway but you can’t hear any road noise.

Though this place is in the middle of nowhere, the dinner and breakfast was not a nowhere affair. In fact I was honestly surprised at the quality and flavour of the food. And that haggis for breakfast .... I want some :-]

Our en suite was very compact, but it worked.

What a great find. A friendly welcome within 5 minutes of the motorway. Comfortable, clean and a great atmosphere in the bar and restaurant. Food in the restaurant was really good and very welcome after 8 hours on the road.

Could not turn radiator off so very hot even with window open, basin in bathroom was absolutely miniscule!

There was othing we did not like. If we were very picky we would have liked a higher top end to the wine list. Having said that the wine we had was very good and excellent value for money.

Comfort, quality of the room and furnishings, cleanliness, food was excellent, quality of public areas were superb. However above all that the staff were all lovely, friemdly and helpful. A minor problem when we first arrived was dealt with superbly. I feel that it is when something goes wrong and their reaction to it differentiates the excellent from the very good. My partner and I would love to return if the opportunity comes up and I would happily pay another 50% on top of what we paid for this hotel.

Perfect location for overnight stay while travelling north. Both dinner and breakfast were lovely. Relaxed but professional feeling and staff were great.

Room was very good except for very small en-suite. Washbasin difficult to use because of size and shelf above. Small point and will not stop us staying again in a couple of months.

Beautiful dining room. Food at every meal excellent. All staff thoughtful and friendly.
