Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaThe strict late checkin policy. 4pm is very late to check in. The doors are locked till then.
This property was one of the nicest we have stayed in. On a road trip around Scotland, this was a perfect stop over. The hotel itself is immaculate, the guest are treated superbly. Though they have strict late check in policy, the beauty and comfort of this hotel makes up for it. Highly recommend

United KingdomWould benefit from having more staff as there was a long wait every time we had to leave the hotel and come back in due to the staff serving drinks ect. I also did not like how you cannot take your key out with you, it was a pain having to wait to go out and come back in specially if you smoke, it felt very restricted due to this. That is the only thing i would change
I loved the location and the rooms were large and beautiful.

United States of AmericaThe bed was wat too small for two people, my wife and I didn't sleep all night bumping into each other. It was not a double size bed, otherwise I would have given them a higher rating. If you're from the US, the UK hotels and Inns don't provide wash cloths, so we always bring our own; I don't know how they wash their face and body?
Nicely decorated, very clean, old lodge in an excellent location. The room and bathroom are on the larger size. Convenient on-site parking. Very good breakfast made to order. Strict check-in and breakfast reservation times. It's an older building, so there is no lift.

United KingdomThis is a very unique family run establishment and this is evident through the friendly atmosphere and quality of service. Quality and tasteful furnishings and decoration in the bedrooms and communal areas, especially the main lounge which has a bar and a lovely tranquil ambience over looking the loch (which is just a 2minute walk away with a lovely shore). Breakfast is fabulous with an excellent selection of sustenance to be had. A perfect place to relax in the evening after a long day touring the area and an excellent nights sleep. Well deserved 10/10 from us

United States of AmericaThe lodge offers a very limited menu of homemade meal offerings. It was nice on our first night as we had a long travel day but plan on locating restaurants nearby for lunch/dinner. I wouldn’t sat it was a say it’s a dislike but a good to know.
The location is beautiful and perfectly located to explore the area. We spent time in Inverness, Glencoe, Inveraray, Oban, and Fort William and the Lodge was our “home” base. We were always welcomed back after a day of exploring with questions of “how was our day” and “what do you do today?” The bar is small but offers nearly anything you would like to drink - the room is large with lots of cozy chairs and couches on which to relax at the end of the day.

United States of AmericaThe bathroom didn’t have a fan and tended to be moist, but it was clean and a good size. Could have used a surface for toiletries.
The historic building, the warm and comfortable bar and lounge, breakfast was yummy and a friendly gathering, staff was very kind and extremely helpful especially with putting wee packs of whiskey and gin together for gifts!
