The rooms in the courtyard block are basic. Having stayed the previous two nights in a better room in the same hotel, I would say paying more is definitely worth it.

The pool was great. There was also lots to do at the neighbouring funhouse. The location is great for people wishing to explore the areas around Aviemore.

Parking wasn’t the best, bathroom was run down, shower railing was just about hanging on. Staff didn’t give us information regarding breakfast and looked unhappy on reception.

    Location, lounge area was nice.

I didn't like that nobody who worked at the hotel had a brush and pan. My son smashed some gkass in our bathroom. I asked reception if they had a sweeping brush they said no but the bar will. The bar did not have a brush and pan, neither which i found strange for a bar not to have a brush and pan. When I finally found a housekeeper they AGAIN did not have a brush and pan. So a house keeper had to come into our room 3x to hoover the glass.

The fun house is amazing for the kids and we loved that the hotel had entertainment things for kids in the lobby

Room was not the room pictured when selecting, it also wasn’t clean dog wee stains on carpet, needed a wash or scrub, so much dust on top of wardrobe when I tried to put my large coat on top to make some space, lumps fell down onto floor. Bed was comfortable though, bathroom was clean. Mostly disappointed about sudden closure of pool the first day we arrived, without any recompense offered at all, a very upset child and a very stressed out parent, who had driven 6 hours to go to this hotel for that reason, if I had known I would have booked elsewhere so we could enjoy and relax. Hotel had a lot of rubbish left around outside, which was a shame, loads of leaking ceilings around hotel. Also allowed in a very aggressive German Shepard dog who was clearly growling and barking trying to get to our dog or possibly my child. Needs tighter enforcement of rules regarding aggressive dogs in hotel. They should have been asked to leave or keep dog in car or at least out of public areas, no consideration for the safety of other PAYING guests, their pets or their children!

Lovely staff in restaurant, all smiling, helpful, friendly. Food was delicious with great options and plenty of variety. Top quality food. If the pool had have been open it would have got better rating, nothing to say pool wouldn’t be open on booking or arrival, this was why we booked hotel after physical hiking holiday we came to relax with toddler entertained by favourite thing swimming! So was incredibly disappointing, was told by leisure staff he had booked holiday and cover not organised, so late minute change of plan, yet told by receptionist that it was maintenance, not nice to be lied to. I explained it was the reason we drove to and booked could they offer compensation such as a free dinner for us, was told that the manager had said no to any compensation. Which wouldn’t have cost them anything being a help yourself restaurant, where much food is thrown away at end and would have made a happier customer. Area was lovely, beautiful woodlands and river to enjoy. Some reception staff were lovely but one very tall young man looked as miserable as anything, like I was a problem just because I was checking in! He also made many mistakes, we altered dinner but that wasn’t passed on, we added extra days to stay (before we realised pool was closed, he said he had attached extra days to the room we were in but we had cleaner knock at door to tell us we should have checked out) but he looked like we were an inconvenience by being guests and yes this was before I moaned about pool.

Long queue at check-in, however we did arrive just after 3pm (busiest time) Staff dealt with it very well and we only waited about 15mins

Very helpful staff and excellent service. After reading reviews on line I was a bit concerned however although the room was a wee bit tired, it was very warm, comfortable and very clean. Public areas are lovely and the food was great. Excellent value for money

£13.50 for breakfast One coffee machine is working, made the worst latte I've ever had. . Bitter with little milk. Needed servicing. If they had happy staff it must have been their day off.

We weren’t too happy with the food that was offered for the evening meals in the hotel. There weren’t a lot of choices to pick from. We were told the check in process might take a while because of training, however when we first arrived there was only one member of staff checking people in and it did take quite a while. This was understandable as there were quite a lot of people checking in at the same time.

The hotel was really nice. We bought the breakfast in advance and it didn’t disappoint. We got an upgrade to 2 separate rooms and the space was good. The neighbouring buildings were also handy as we ate at the pizza place, which was not far from hotel and went to the soft play area before we left the next day. Hotel stay were friendly.
