Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWebsite should giving more information on where rooms are as book standard double and requested ground floor due to health issues only to be told on arrival all standard doubles are on top floor WHY??? Eventually got moved to a family room on ground floor after a lot of huffing and puffing by foreign receptionist.
Breakfast was great. Dinner left a lot to be desired as food was cold and dried up.

United KingdomBreakfast was not good. Room was really small and needed to be properly cleaned and hoovered would be good. The lead for the kettle was to short to reach any electric socket in room. Food in Wooden Shed think that’s what you call it was really bad and also all children under 18 had to be out of there before 8 o’clock? F that’s the case why are under 18s allowed in all other bars with in Coylumbridge hotel yous need to look at that.
Would like to stay here again but don’t think so

United KingdomThey are very understaffed with only one person on check in, one person serving at the bar, causing big queues all the time. One member of staff told me that they had worked 7 hours without a break. For a busy hotel they need more staff. Some of the areas are a bit dated and need freshened up. But most disappointing of all was that they didn’t clean my room at all during my stay. I was there for 3 nights. No fresh towels, no bin emptied, no hoovering or making beds or cleaning the bathrooms. That was extremely disappointing. Had I know that when I booked, I wouldn’t have booked it. I heard a few people complaining about it. I did question it at the end of my stay but was told they don’t clean rooms at all once checked in which for a 4 star hotel is shocking! Also the jacuzzi wasn’t working during our stay and twice we had to rearrange our swimming session because of someone being sick in the pool, I know that’s not the hotels fault but was still disappointing.
Great location and dog friendly. Lots of activities on to amuse the kids and all round good facilities.

United KingdomBeds uncomfortable, noisy - could clearly hear the guests in other room. Although there’s a choice of 3 places to eat, all at different times, the menus were limited if you didn’t want the buffet.
Lots of stuff for the kids to do

United KingdomRoom was boiling Very pricey Check in system is a joke. I’d suggest to anyone coming, check in when you arrive in the area and then you can collect key from side of reception after 4.
Nice location. Family oriented. Received a complementary pass for fun house due to long wait in check in Que Buffet breakfast was decent

United KingdomOn arriving at our bedroom there was not a fresh smell. Think there had probably been a wet dog in the bedroom previously . We bought an air freshener which solved the problem. Whilst the bed linen was clean one of the pillow cases had a couple of stains on it which had obviously not come out in the wash- whilst it wasn’t a big thing it shouldn’t have been used.
Loved the location and the facilities for the children. Breakfast was really good too- couldn’t have expected anymore. Price was good - definitely family friendly👍

United KingdomThe bed comfort is dreadfull, mattresses sunken with high pillows, we all had a bit of a sore neck in the morning. Arcade was a rip off, low quality prizes for the kids after spending a fortune, could of got a better prize from a kinder egg, stayed in the hotel a least 4 times and there is always an issue with the pool, it's one of the reasons we stay and never get to use that facility properly. Staff are helpful to get you a pool slot but limited to 1 hour so feels rushed.
Breakfast was great 👍, cooked well and reasonable good quality food, better than expected 👌. great location with plenty for the kids to do around the area. The hotel is great for the kids but would be good if it had a decent spa pool for the adults.

United KingdomThe food - this hotel is a distance from Aviemore centre where a better choice of food could be found. Charged £24.95 for a buffet 3 course meal. The food was not a good standard for price - soup cold as was meat and overcooked - good selection of cakes for desert, but again likely bought in bulk and defrosted. We only ate there once.
We did receive a upgrade of room as hotel was not too busy, which was nice and the bed was very comfortable.

United KingdomThe corridors in the hotel are a bit tired looking and smelled like a hospital - this was reassuring because felt like they must be clean, but slightly too bleachy smelling for a hotel. The bath and sink in the room probably needed replacing - absolutely fine to use, but slightly tatty and worn. These things would not stop us returning.
Very clean room and comfortable beds, we were only staying for 1 night for a family party nearby, but we were pleasantly surprised by the facilities at the hotel, the friendly staff and the good sized room we had. We would return, it's great value in a lovely location.
