It would be nice for the hotel to have a free shuttle to and from the airport, although the walk is reasonable without rain. The rooms are pretty small.

Check-in was excellent. The restaurant was good and convenient. The location is superb to Gatwick Airport

Firstly, its a shame we have to get used to the fact that for those on a plant based diet, there is little choice in the restaurant for the main course. A vegan burger was the only option. I think a big chain like the Marriot could work a little harder on this as there are more people who would like the option of not having to have meat and dairy. Even one more main dish? Also - the bath had some black mould bedded into the silicone and some of the sealant wasnt finished properly. A shame to spoil an otherwise lovely room with black mould for the sake of some fresh silicone!(and no, I am not volunteering to bring a tube next time!) Last thing! PLEASE let people know that some of the walk to the hotel is not undercover. Some hotels have a dedicated covered walkway. There is about 5 minutes of potential drenching - we were lucky as the carpark flooded overnight! Also - we looked at getting a Hoppa bus- the driver told us that it would take upto 40 minutes by bus vs a ten minute walk(we got there in 7!)

The Room was good, beds very comfortable and room was very clean and quiet(see notes about what we didnt like)let down on some small details. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Good nights sleep. Great breakfast.

The hotel restaurant has a clunky ordering system on a tablet on the table. No way to check what you have ordered with regards to food. One of our meals didn't arrive initially as the order hadn't made it to the kitchen. That system needs reviewing.

The reception staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Superb service from the lady who checked us in on arrival. Lovely spacious room. Good value for money.

Omg, where to start on dinner. Horrendous. Firstly the staff on front desk are quite rude and snappy. If you ask a question it was met with eye rolling. Went to dinner, which was a big mistake. Some new feature where you order via a tablet, very unsociable. Then we were met by the most horrendously cooked meals. Burger baps which were frozen and just about thawed, a chicken fillet which was so overcooked it could have passed off as chipboard and chips which had been under a heat lamp for 2 weeks previous. The salad looked like it was a handful from a bag squirted with too much balsamic vinegar, and then the drinks served in dirty glasses. To top this off they had the ordacity to try and charge £85 for this muck... Needless to say I refused to pay and this was accepted by a pleasant bar manager who apologised and said the main chef wasn't there that night... Sad that they still tried to serve it though. It didn't spoil the beginning of our holiday though and we got up next morning after a nice sleep and travelled on. Overall decent hotel, just don't eat there!

We booked a family room for 4 adults, I didn’t see the standard room but ours seemed like a standard size with 2 queen beds. Restaurant was somewhat different in that the menu was a screen and extras or deletions were a pain. I think we called the waiter 5 different times to complete our order. Counterproductive and frustrating. It was our first time in the UK so maybe that’s the way things are but we prefer the traditional approach.

It was okay, staff was very friendly and breakfast was a nice selection. Location next to the Airport was good but don’t try to roll your luggage over those bumpy sidewalks. Take the shuttle for £4.20 and save the wheels.

Walking access from the train station, the hotel was poorly signposted and there were a lot of stairs. If you were not too fit this walking access would have made it very difficult with a case. There should be a ramp or lift or at the very least should be pointed out that stairs had to be negotiated

There was no obvious way to know how often the bus comes for the terminal. A sign or live update board would have been great.

I wasn't aware that if we book Marriott Hotels with Booking.com we are not eligible to receive the Marriott Rewards, the card is not valid. When I presented my rewards card, the Reception lady was really rude, saying if you don't pay the Marriott rate you don't get points. ( I certainly wasn't aware of that) I have booked about 8 nights with Booking .Com in Marriott. It will be the Hilton at Gatwick and City airport in the future

Close to the Terminal at Gatwick , we walked to the hotel from the south Terminal. We stayed on the night pre flying on holiday and also on our return

In view of the price of the hotel, I wouldn’t expect to pay £4.50pp each way for the shuttle bus. A timetable would have been nice for airport pick up too. At 1am we were wondering if the bus was going to show or if we’d have to walk with lots of luggage.

The room was exceptionally comfortable and there was every toiletry included in the room that you could possibly need which were fabulous quality. Robes and slippers. Excellent variety at breakfast. All staff were superb.

The dinner menu was somewhat limited and very much ready meal style.

The close proximity to the airport and the regular shuttle bus to the terminals make this an ideal location. We had a very very comfortable stay. All the staff, be it reception, bar or restaurant were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good and excellent value, particularly in comparison to the typical airport price
