Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomOld fashioned but clean and a really big room. The carpet had a few marks but that happens ...it was clean. The member of staff who checked us in was very pleasant. Maybe it could do with staff having a smart uniform...which would raise the initial opinion of the hotel.

United KingdomLocation is in the nightclub area of town we did read reveiws, took a gamble.. Music very loudly until 3am, on a bank holiday Sunday. Very rough area at night. Tramps everywhere. Room was massive, yet virtually empty, bathroom simply needed a ten minute "proper" clean.
Location was excellent. Yet also its downfall. Room was massive, within 5 min walk to pretty much anywhere in town tourist wise. Very co.fy beds. Room made up every day. Good value for money. I would actually stay here again!

United KingdomOur room faced onto the Main Street which became party central, unfortunately no double glazing to block out the noise and the secondary glazing that is there is useless, no other rooms available so staff gave us earplugs.
Hotel central to every thing, rooms tidy but a little rundown, breakfast self service buffet style plenty of choice and hot, parking is free just register at reception

United KingdomFrom my views curtains there so high windows which is great but you can not hardly pull them on needs some on a pulley or something. Lights very dim or not enough in the room. View was rubbish onto the bins but I'm fine about that it was reasonable priced. I didn't like breakfast time. I pre booked for 9.30 last sitting with the cook and reception staff to walk in to a member of staff telling me it was too late I said I'd booked the night before she still was adamant but your too late it as to be pre booked I said I have. I was starting to feel annoyed and a bit embarrassed by this point she checked the paper work and there it was. Maybe don't cast everyone off as lying or apologise I don't like confrontation its taken me alot this my accident to travel with my dog so still feel anxious . I'm sure the vegetarian sausage wasn't one I wasn't overly impressed with breakfast after that or the atmosphere certainly wouldn't have tea there. Shame there missing out on food theres nearby places more pleasant. Don't know why equally there still faffing around with the one way system. Sorry little rant I just think it turns a really nice experience the other way. Lovely old parts of the building fascinating and some lovely staff
Lovely staff on the day I checked in especially been a lone traveller with disabilities I found them extremely helpful friendly chatty especially the young chap on the late shift. He should be recognised for his lovely mannerism and care of his customers providing loads of advice and recommendations from history of the building which I love places to get food or to visit

United KingdomThe floors are creaky as hell - despite the ceilings being old-style 13ft high ones, we were kept awake all night as they creak terribly every time the occupant of the room above walks anywhere. We were also very disappointed as we paid a fair bit extra for a Superior Double Room with a lot bigger floorspace, instead of the cheaper Standard Classic. Yet the room we got was standard, or even small by any reading of it - indeed the fire evacuation plan on the wall showed it to be the smallest room on the floor - much smaller than all the others on the plan. (I took a photo of it as evidence, though I know some of the others will be the Family Rooms). I subsequently contacted the hotel on our return home, when I remembered we'd paid to go bigger, but they replied to state our room number was deemed to be a Superior Double. So be warned that they charge extra for Superior Doubles that are no bigger than any other hotel's bog-standard small rooms. Save yourself some money and stick to the Classic Rooms - there's virtually no difference. Oh and "Superior" also doesn't have any relationship to view amenity it would seem - we looked out inward, straight onto the dirty glass roof of the lobby ceiling bit - the worst view in the hotel probably 🤣😭
As always, it is in an excellent location for leisure use - right next to the pubs, bars, and train station.

United KingdomThe noise from the bar beside hotel was very loud on Friday and Saturday night. As this was a family room it was totally unacceptable. The boom boom noise was just vibrating through the walls. Another problem was that there was nowhere to hang coats.
Hotel was in a good location and walkable to everywhere we needed to go. Breakfast was good.
