Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomMichael and Rachel were lovely hosts. The location was good, a gentle 10mins stroll into town. We had an amazing view of the estuary out of the big bay window in our room, and there were 2 chairs to sit and enjoy it in the room. Breakfast was absolutely fab, with really good and different options. Would highly recommend staying here.

The location was ideal and on the edge of the town with an easy walk into the shops and restaurants. We had the most fabulous views overlooking Morecambe Bay.

United KingdomThere wasn't anything I didn't like but I guess the one frustration is the shower running cold, which must be due to a few people showering at the same time but I guess it was a refreshing wake up call..
The very warm welcome from Karen and Peter, both of whom are truly friendly. Their home is immaculate, bright and airy. We were in room 5 on the 2nd landing, which was very spacious and was fully stocked with tea/coffee etc. Bathroom with shampoo, shower gel etc. There was also a hairdryer in the room but am so used to taking my own everywhere I didn't put it to the test. Breakfast was so tasty and there was quite a lot of choice from fresh fruit to full English. We have booked again for 2023 and we highly recommend.

United KingdomHad good communication with Karen and Pete during booking and questins were answered very quickly. Had a text the day of travel with access information to the b&b. Traffic was bad and so arrived later than planned but received a lovely warm welcome from Karen when we finally did. Room was gorgeous with nice range of tea's, coffee and hot chocolate. Little bottles of fresh milk available from a little fridge on the landing if you didn't want to use the cartons of UHT. Beds are super comfy and there is plenty of wardrobe space if you're staying long enough to unpack. Nice sofa in room so you don't have to just sit on the bed to watch tv or eat and drink. Bathroom and shower lovely, bright and clean with ample free shampoo, conditioner and lotions. Breakfast was pre order the night before before 8pm...this is so any requests that aren't on the form can be accomodated. Breakfast was amazing, just the right amount to set you up for the day and delivered with lots of care and attention. Breakfast room was spaceful, bright and clean with some lovely views from the window. Lots of cutlery and crockery available should you wish to eat and drink in your room. Karen is very knowledgeable of the area and surroundings and was happily giving people ideas on how and where to spend their days and how to match up seperate places to make a full day. My daughter and I wouldn't have known about Cartmel if Karen had told us about it! My daughter and I both slept really well and there was no noise to be heard from rooms above or people on the stairs coming and going. Lots of lovely places to be visited in the town and surrounding areas and the train station is only a 15-20 minute walk from the b&B so you can leave your car at the b&b and travel to diffenr places by train. On a whole this was by far one of the best b&b's I've stayed at and couldn't praise enough. Will definately be returning. Thankyou For a lovely stay.

United KingdomThe only slightly irritating thing was that the WiFi seemed a bit patchy in my room and my Netflix didn't work but to be fair this wasn't a big deal and I didn't mention it to the owners as it wasn't that important to me. It worked better in my sons room and his Netflix worked until 10.00 in the evening when strangely it then stopped working for him too.
The location was lovely and the view from my window was stunning. The guest house is spotlessly clean and the owners are lovely. I really appreciated the fact that they provided really good quality toiletries (shower gel, body lotion, hair conditioner etc) which was a nice surprise. The guest house is so friendly and welcoming with a really comfortable atmosphere. My room was gorgeous as was my sons room. We both had a lovely stay and I would highly recommend it! The breakfast was delicious too and the breakfast room is really relaxing and beautiful.
