Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomThe heating was on and even after turning it down it didn't turn off all night making it extremely warm, the window was open but it didn't help. There's also no plug sockets near the beds.

3 Clean towels, clean bedding, the clothes hanging units - very basic and clever. Black out curtains were a huge bonus, too. Tea coffee facility good too. Staff were lovely

United KingdomThere wasn’t any milk available in our room for a hot drink which was disappointing when woke up in the morning. As it’s so close to the train station there seemed to be some construction work going on at the train station that began at 4:30am. This of course isn’t the hotels fault and not much they can do to prevent but ruined my stay as as awake from 4:30am onwards.
The location was good, easy to find.

I read some reviews prior to stay which weren't too complimentary but was pleasantly surprised, the room we had was a good size and cleaned to a very high standard. The location is spot on for train stations and city centre.

United KingdomThe radiator seemed broken or difficult to work because our room was so hot and even when it seemed as cool as we could get it the room was still warm so we had to sleep with the window and curtains open to let the breeze in. And also the shower curtain didn't do a good job of stopping water go all over the floor because it was hard to spin around.
The bed was really comfy. The room was a comfy and cosy space to sleep in, very spacious and most things available in the room worked well.

We needed a reasonably priced hotel near the station and it delivered. The reception and bar staff were friendly and our room was clean, check out at 11am is more than fair. The security was good, which was necessary as the bar is open to the public. Our room was quiet and everything was in working order.
