The heating was on and even after turning it down it didn't turn off all night making it extremely warm, the window was open but it didn't help. There's also no plug sockets near the beds.

It had a very cool retro feeling like in the movies

3 Clean towels, clean bedding, the clothes hanging units - very basic and clever. Black out curtains were a huge bonus, too. Tea coffee facility good too. Staff were lovely

Well hanging my t-shirts up covered some of the tv screen. The carpets possibly need a deep clean.

The proximity to New Street Station. After booking I read a really bad review so I was apprehensive but my room was fine.

There wasn’t any milk available in our room for a hot drink which was disappointing when woke up in the morning. As it’s so close to the train station there seemed to be some construction work going on at the train station that began at 4:30am. This of course isn’t the hotels fault and not much they can do to prevent but ruined my stay as as awake from 4:30am onwards.

The mattress was a little tired with the springs beginning to come through making sleeping a little challenging.

Furniture and curtains had a tired look and there was a few what looked like homeless people hanging around outside when we arrived.

I read some reviews prior to stay which weren't too complimentary but was pleasantly surprised, the room we had was a good size and cleaned to a very high standard. The location is spot on for train stations and city centre.

The radiator seemed broken or difficult to work because our room was so hot and even when it seemed as cool as we could get it the room was still warm so we had to sleep with the window and curtains open to let the breeze in. And also the shower curtain didn't do a good job of stopping water go all over the floor because it was hard to spin around.

The bed was really comfy. The room was a comfy and cosy space to sleep in, very spacious and most things available in the room worked well.

Our pillows! So hard! But that’s minor for a hotel that is really geared up for short stays

We needed a reasonably priced hotel near the station and it delivered. The reception and bar staff were friendly and our room was clean, check out at 11am is more than fair. The security was good, which was necessary as the bar is open to the public. Our room was quiet and everything was in working order.

TV reception was unserviceable in the room, though its not like people use them much nowadays.

Great value, couldn't complain for the price. Booked tens of minutes before I arrived and there was no hitches. Very happy with the state of the room and everything else.

I have a walking disability, and when we arrived at the hotel was told the lift was out of action. Gentlemen that checked us in kindly took our case up to our room, but it did spoil our short stay as we struggled with the stairs.
