Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomAs the Hall is situated 2 miles from Nottingham city centre, with no transport links, the choice is driving into the city centre and finding a car park, or getting a taxi. Taxi in was arranged by hotel and very prompt. Trying to get a taxi back was more problematic though, probably due to a very busy christmas market! Next time we would go at a quieter time of year, with longer days so we could go around the woodland in the evening.
Loved the enormous bedroom, very comfy bed, and big bathroom with both bath and separate shower. Decor all very good and fitting for a listed building. Staff were all exceptionally friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good with range of cereals fruit etc followed by cooked breakfast if wanted. We had an excellent evening meal. The Hall has some beautiful function rooms, lovely old fashioned staircases and one corridor covered in mirrors. We had a very good walk around the surrounding parkland and lakes.

United KingdomThe restaurant was offering the Festive Menu, which limited the variety for those staying more than one night.
Lovely building and very spacious room (luxury suite) full of character. Despite the age of the building and the size of the rooms, we were surprised how lovely and warm the rooms and all areas were kept - which was important as we arrived during a cold snap! Service from all staff we encountered was exceptional, and the food in the restaurant was very good. Kitchen were very amenable regarding food allergies.

United KingdomMicrowave would have been very useful. I needed to warm up my soup for dinner in my room. Also a café type restaurant for a quick bite is needed.
Good room, good service, good car park. I enjoyed my stay and will definitely use the facility again. Generous car parking space.

United KingdomThere wasn't much I didn't like. I just think it's a shame there is a set price for breakfast irrespective of how much you choose to eat. The price should be related to whether you choose a simple continental or full English / coffee, cereal and slice of toast.

United KingdomHard to find fault as had such a wonderful stay. Bedroom a little too warm though fan helped. Would have bigger tea cups!
Beautiful large suite in beautiful hotel. Period features are gorgeous. Had a lovely relaxing stay. Large comfortable bed in quiet, dark room so a very good night's sleep. Nice to have little extras like different teas, biscuits, hot chocolate sachets etc in room as well as a bottle of water. Staff attentive and friendly. Location great, very handy for park & ride into Nottingham city centre with frequent bus service. Definitely like to return!

United KingdomNo lift due to restrictions on Grade ll status but staff did offer to carry luggage. One of the hand towels was stained but we still had plenty.
Staff were super helpful. Beautiful location & loved that it's a Grade ll listed building. Lovely sized room & bathroom with furniture that was sympathetic to the age of the hotel. And cheaper than the well known chains!!!
