The hotel is getting old and rundown. It needs updates in the rooms to charge the price that was paid.

Staff were great, room was made-up every day.

The room was rather dark. It was not possible to close the window when it was windy. It was a twin room but only had one chair. I had single occupancy. There was plenty of room for me but I would have felt crowded had I been sharing.

Reception staff friendly and helpful. The breakfast excellent. The sitting room on the first floor is very comfortable and the view on to the River Ness great despite the scaffolding. All the other little sitting areas were very useful and welcoming. The cupboard of books to borrow was a nice touch.

The steps between some levels could be challenging for some.

We stayed in the Columba on the last night of a nearly 3 week vacation. There is a large, comfortable room on the second (?) floor that we used to finish up cheese, sausage and such before departing, and it was a wonderful, relaxing spot. Our room was comfortable and clean. There are a lot of steps to the various levels in this hotel, and even using the elevator there are some rooms that will require a few steps and some zig zagging around. We are fully capable of that, but some might not be, esp if you are dragging around enormous bags, which we weren’t. Friendly desk personnel, and an altogether pleasant stay!

The features and general upkeep of the hotel is quite dated.

The hotel is located in a very good spot on the riverfront. You get what you pay for with this hotel. Affordable accommodation at a convenient location in town.

Carpeting old looked dirty, the lift was pretty banged up. I felt like a mouse going through a maze every time I came/went from my room. My room was located on the first floor but I still had to carry my bags up a flight of stairs. I had a view of a alleyway

The staff was very kind. Convenient location. Outside of the building is beautiful.

We were Initially in room 301. Room hadn't been cleaned properly or hoovered and was still sweets on the floor from previous guests. Also the room door lock didn't work so we couldn't lock our room door. Also screws on bathroom threshold were raised and caught my foot. We got moved to 302. Room was spotless, shower curtain was 12"" to short and when you went for a shower the bathroom floor got soaked.

Location was excellent and front desk staff were amazing.

The building is fairly old and there are stains on the wall and furniture. We had a blanket with stains on it and we moved it off the bed and placed it on the table hoping the staff would remove or replace it the next day, but they never did.

It was very tired looking and in need of re-furbishment. The first floor lounge area looked like it hadn’t been cleaned for a long, long time…there were dirty glasses on the tables and a lots of rubbish in an open cupboard. Unfortunately, the common areas were probably wonderful in their day but now past their prime.

The light above the sink didn’t work The bathtub handle to choose shower or bath was missing The noise of glass breaking ( recycling? ) in the afternoon very loud staff of this hotel or next talking loudly with many F bombs for 20 minutes below my window which faced an alleyway The cost was ridiculous for what they provided $395.00 breakfast not included

    I had a bath which I appreciated

I checked today and price is much higher now £545 for 2 days is too much. I won't visit until prices come down again. These price hikes also happen in other hotels in Inverness.

Location is good. Breakfast was very good. Staff were helpfull and seemed to be happy in their work.price was reasonable at this time.

Location is great, just a short walk to shops and restaurants. The hotel has an old-world feeling and the rooms are very nicely decorated. Needs a little TLC here and there, but it doesn't take away from the charm.
