Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe hotel is starting to look dated and needs renovation. The carpet needs a good clean, especially on the hallways. Despite staying here every year for years on my trips to Manchester (best city in the world), I would reconsider next time, staying elsewhere. There are a lot of newer, modern hotels in the vicinity for similar or less price. Finally, my room was next door to where the staff coordinated the cleaning of the room. It was noisy at times, mainly with the door but also conversation.
It is very close to the Manchester Gay Village and also Manchester Piccadilly Station. The hotel is cosy and I have stayed many times over the years. It has a bit of a charm and I can’t put my finger on it. Breakfast is good, especially the porridge. I was able to check in early.

AustraliaThey didn’t seem to know what was going on - we stayed for two nights (which were booked separately), but this was explained in numerous occasions, and they didn’t get it. Once when I opened feted room service they said “we’re busy at the moment, can you come down and get it”.
Good room, had a fridge, good towels and it was very comfortable.

United StatesThere was an obnoxious drunk who harrassed me at the door of my room while it was open to collect a receipt for a breakfast tray. Not good. His friends did not pull him away.
The location was very convenient as we had esasy access to the train station utilized during our stay. Staff was accommodating.

New ZealandOur mattress was old sagging and with every move you could hear the springs ping and pong. I'm not sure if they have an issue with plumbing but flushing the toilet was a workout! Having to hold the flush down for a minute till the water came through. So weird!
Entering the double tree I was instantly relaxed. It smells delightful. We were offered cookies and a complimentary drink at the in house bar for our celebration. I was impressed with the view from our room and the bathroom was clean and new.

United KingdomI lived in room 733. The Wi-Fi signal is inferior in the room. And this is the only point that made me disappointed.
Perfect location. For both driving or taking public transport. The breakfast was good. I enjoyed the cheeses, hams, eggs, and oats. If you are trying to lose weight, the breakfast here can still meet your requirements.

United KingdomLifts were slow especially with one faulty call button. The closure of the car park was inconvenient as we’ve always used the hotel parking. This time the room was noisy facing into the station with traffic.
Breakfast was good although it could have been warmer. Great location. Easy and friendly desk staff.

Irelandnothing!
i was pleasantly surprised with this hotel for the price i was not expecting the beautiful new rooms and really central location , our flight was cancelled during the air traffic control problem and we had to book a room for the night , we actually booked this hotel in error instead of the one at Manchester Airport but i’m glad we did! the hotel was very centrally located meaning we could head out for the evening at ease and come back for a drink in the bar before bed. my only criticism is that the bar only had enough tequila for one margarita ( my favorite cocktail) . The room was perfect the bed one of the most comfortable i’ve slept in and the bathroom was really clean and well designed, i woulddefinitely book this hotel again

Singapore1. The shower room door was difficult to close - the handle is rather short hence makes it difficult to close (you need to pull the door if you're inside the shower room). 2. For a 4-Star hotel, I was expecting bedroom slippers to be provided but I was told that it's only provided to suites. I think I'm used to Asia hotel where it's pretty common. No need anything fanciful - simple one-time use type will be good enough.
Clean, modern decor is very pleasant. I was put on L2 which I was told is newly refurbished, hence everything looked nice and new. Very pleasant staff at the L1 restaurant - excellent food. I think I managed to get it at promotional rates on booking.com, hence it's good value for money.
