The bar area wasn't very cosy as no carpet and just wicker conservatory style seating- I was expecting a carpeted comfy bar and a sitting room of some sort to sit and read/chat comfortably. A shame as it's a Country House hotel- but otherwise it was great.

Cheaper and much quieter than the local Premier Inn that we've used before as a stopover. The food was excellent - both in the evening and at breakfast- and it was table service. The staff were helpful and welcoming. We asked for a quiet room as we sleep with our window open- and it was lovely and quiet. No kitchen fans going or any other noise! Definitely recommend and would book again.

Would be nice to have a bigger bed, there was plenty of space in the room, and a double bed doesn’t really cut it these days.

Lovely house and grounds, very clean, very friendly staff, breakfast was great, view from the room was good. Overall a really nice place to stay.

Everything was great. The breakfast choices were good but the portion size for the full english could have been a bit bigger.

We had a great stay. We arrived late but the night receptionist was super helpful. We were also really grateful for the room upgrade as it was a super room.

Bathroom was Tired. Could do with an update 😕 Breakfast was basic. ( not a fan of cooked food being kept warm 😕) Service excellent.

No USB charging sockets in the bedroom I stayed in. These days, who doesn’t have them in a hotel? Room heat control is controlled by reception, who want to keep contacting reception for room heat adjustment?

Bed was comfortable, hot water was plentiful, friendly staff and plenty of tasty breakfast. Hotel is old/dated but was clean.

The breakfast wasn’t great, and a little bit cold.

The bed in our room was small (other rooms have larger doubles or king size) and the beams on the ceiling were very low, so we both had to duck (no mention of this at check in, and no safety notices in the room).

The staff were able to accommodate an earlier breakfast (continental only) which was great (times online stated breakfast was from 7:45, but when we arrived it was 8:00). The room was clean and the bathroom well equipped. Love the location.

The paintwork in the room around the windows and on the balcony was in need of re-doing which made it look a little run down.

Beautiful location and extremely friendly, helpful receptionist when we checked in. The room was very spacious and comfortable with french windows leading out on to a balcony overlooking the gardens. Our lunch was very good with very generous portions. We were really lucky with the weather so sat in the gardens for a drink which was lovely. Our breakfast was delicious, freshly cooked and hot. Our waitress was really nice and helpful.

Lovely spacious quiet twin room. We ate in the restaurant at night which was amazing food, great quality and value for money. Friendly staff and lovely location.
