1st property, the lights didn’t work, sofa had no cushion and had holes in it. Moved to a smaller lodge, not a suite, but was much cleaner and better maintained

It wasn’t as clean as I’d of liked, the blind was covered in stains, the shower didn’t drain away fast and if both myself and my husband had to shower we needed to be in and out within 5 minutes each otherwise it flooded the floor.

The staff were amazing, very attentive. Felt like I was away in Canada in the lodge and really loved the little walks around the estate.

Very comfortable bed and linen. Lighting in the room was not convenient or well thought out. The dressing table light turned overhead light on as well. Only one bed side light. Bathroom is functional but stark. Bedroom fitted furnishing are tired and outdated. Staff were friendly.

Shower not great, and I had emailed 3 weeks prior asking to book the spa to be told it wasn't possible, it could only be done on the day. On arrival I asked again to be told it was fully booked. Quite annoyed as this was our main reason for booking a spa hotel.

Too little parking, spa outdoor jacuzzi was not working, double bed only in an exec bedroom was too small.

I wasn't too taken with all the timber. it was like being in the Little House on the Prairie.

Our ground floor room was comfortable and well appointed. We also had direct access to a patio area with ducks wandering around in the morning. The staff who we encountered including the breakfast staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was well presented and tasty. A good selection at the cold buffet too. we didn't use the spa.

The restaurant was disappointing, food just ok, nothing special,service not great either. We feel the whole place is getting to look tired & in need of some TLC. They seem to be concentrating on the wedding market & neglecting the areas that need attention. Which is a shame

We love the location. We have visited several times over several years & love cabin 69 always stay there. Love its peaceful location in the forest. However this time the peace was spoiled by the people in the next cabin, talking & laughing very loudly until the small hours !

Breakfast wasn't up to expectations. The coffee wasn't very good at all, weak and not a great taste. The vegetarian breakfast on the Sunday was poor. The mushrooms were overcooked and dry. The hotel's link to a local taxi firm should be changed because the firm used were unreliable for us (10 minutes turned to almost 60)and this unreliability was apparently a standing joke. Also I think a regular feature of great hotels is to have a decent coffee maker in the rooms.

We really liked the room. The room was spacious with plenty of storage space and a great shower. It was really clean and well looked after. The staff were very friendly and very helpful.

Outside seating not clean we had to ask reception for a cloth to clean furniture, we couldn't understand time slot for pool use 8pm till 9pm used many spas and never had this before, also the following morning our time slot was 7am till 8am so up early and off to pool we go but we couldn't use it because they were doing repairs

That there is a extre £15 charge for pool ect if you go outside the times - it was my birthday and after my back massage ( which was good by the way) I had to pay a extra £15 to swim jacquzzi sauna - I understand their theory but I think if u have treatments booked it should be free

It’s just lovely such a suprise when you enter and great facilities .one day sat with a book on the sun beds near the lake and its was just wonderful

Beds were not very comfortable (pillows seemed to shrink into nothing, mattress sloped heavily to one side) and we had to look for staff on several occasions as they were not present at the front desk or bar.

Beautiful grounds, fabulous location, and a really unique feel to the building. Felt like dropping into the past, and what a lovely smell throughout from the redwood! Wish timings had allowed for us to use the spa, as looked lovely.

I was at the end of the hotel and my shower was only just big enough for me at 5’6” so would have struggled if I was any bigger. Also it was a tiny head and only 2” of me could be warm at any one time!

Very quaint and reminded me of a ski chalet. Comfy bed and lovely staff.

Full pool access not included in the stay. Only one hour on the day you arrive 8-9pm which is a waste of the stay if you've come to enjoy a swim like we did. You can also go something like 7-9am but you will be wanting breakfast at that time. You can book pool access for about £20 pp which is not unreasonable. It also means that the pool is not too busy as access is timed. I'm not against the way it's run. However they should make this very clear when booking so that your first feeling when arriving isn't disappointment! Also we got the last space available so again, better to know in advance.

Beautiful absolutely stunning scenery. Peaceful. I like the idea of booking time slots for the pool/spa as it meant it wasn't too busy. Price is fair I love that it's realistic for normal people looking for a treat night away.

There was no water pressure you couldn't really take a proper shower and wash your hair.

Cabin was pretty, very quiet, saw lots of squirrels. Tea , coffee buscuits , Hot choc and chocolate were a lovely touch!

The shower head holder was broken so I had to hold it to have a shower and the height of the ceiling over the shower was so low, I'm only 5'3" and could just stand up in it!!

The setting was beautiful and the staff were really friendly. The hotel itself is very cosy and the bed was super comfortable.
