That there is a extre £15 charge for pool ect if you go outside the times - it was my birthday and after my back massage ( which was good by the way) I had to pay a extra £15 to swim jacquzzi sauna - I understand their theory but I think if u have treatments booked it should be free

It’s just lovely such a suprise when you enter and great facilities .one day sat with a book on the sun beds near the lake and its was just wonderful

Beds were not very comfortable (pillows seemed to shrink into nothing, mattress sloped heavily to one side) and we had to look for staff on several occasions as they were not present at the front desk or bar.

Beautiful grounds, fabulous location, and a really unique feel to the building. Felt like dropping into the past, and what a lovely smell throughout from the redwood! Wish timings had allowed for us to use the spa, as looked lovely.

I was at the end of the hotel and my shower was only just big enough for me at 5’6” so would have struggled if I was any bigger. Also it was a tiny head and only 2” of me could be warm at any one time!

Very quaint and reminded me of a ski chalet. Comfy bed and lovely staff.

Limited pool access you must book!

Full pool access not included in the stay. Only one hour on the day you arrive 8-9pm which is a waste of the stay if you've come to enjoy a swim like we did. You can also go something like 7-9am but you will be wanting breakfast at that time. You can book pool access for about £20 pp which is not unreasonable. It also means that the pool is not too busy as access is timed. I'm not against the way it's run. However they should make this very clear when booking so that your first feeling when arriving isn't disappointment! Also we got the last space available so again, better to know in advance.

Beautiful absolutely stunning scenery. Peaceful. I like the idea of booking time slots for the pool/spa as it meant it wasn't too busy. Price is fair I love that it's realistic for normal people looking for a treat night away.

Cabin was pretty, very quiet, saw lots of squirrels. Tea , coffee buscuits , Hot choc and chocolate were a lovely touch!

The shower head holder was broken so I had to hold it to have a shower and the height of the ceiling over the shower was so low, I'm only 5'3" and could just stand up in it!!

The setting was beautiful and the staff were really friendly. The hotel itself is very cosy and the bed was super comfortable.

Limited access to spa and pool. Windows were single glazed in bathroom and in need of replacing but this was only a minor issue and didn't affect our enjoyment of the room. Also, wish the lakeside restaurant was more luxurious with more comfortable seats. The view across the lake was lovely however.

The surroundings were lovely, the food was delicious, friendly staff, good sized room.

Beautiful Hotel with great value spa and leisure facilities

In my standard room my mattress was incredibly uneven and lumpy and the same with my pillows. I didn’t have a very comfortable night stay. I was sadden to be told the roast dinner on a Sunday stopped at a certain time so I couldn’t have it for my afternoon meal. The spa and pool and hot tubs were lovely but I do feel that the floor around the pool and around the outside hot tub area needs to be cleaned more often. The floor was quite dirty and I was using the facilities from 5pm until 7:30 x I do love that you can order drinks from the spa and the staff deliver the drinks to you wherever you are in the spa but I’d make sure that empty cups are taken, as some guests would leave them around

I loved the location and the hotel look, I first upgraded to a suite and it was lovely very clean and well decorated. I then stayed in a standard room and that was also well decorated and very clean. I loved the spa and pool areas and the staff were all very nice and helped with my stay

Poor lighting in bedroom, too dark to read. Plane noise early morning. Bathroom dated, although functional. Room not very soundproof and could hear snoring from another room.

Beautiful setting around lake. Comfortable bed. Good breakfast and evening meal. Quirky hotel with novel features.

We had cleaners knock on our door every morning, which is lovely asking if we needed anything fresh, I had asked if during our week stay we could have our bed linen changed but that never happened and I did ask a couple times. The restaurant was lovely, however due to the price we weren’t able to eat there every night £96 for 2 mains & 2 puddings! The pool, steam room, sauna & outdoor jacuzzi was lovely, however the women’s changing rooms had used towels, robes and slippers just left all on the floor and the indoor jacuzzi wasn’t working properly so didn’t get to use it. In our cabin our shower didn’t work properly, after speaking to someone at reception twice they said they would get it looked at but never did so we just used the showers over in the pool room.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, the breakfast waiters were amazing! On arrival we were given a map to find our cabin in the woods which were all very good labelled. The cabin we stayed in was spacious and lovely room had everything we needed. Bar was lovely and could take drinks back to our room. It was quiet at night and was lovely watching the deer, squirrels & ducks running around.

Getting to our evening meal ordered starters, mains and drinks no problem. Starters and drinks received no problem it all went down hill from there waited 45 - 60 mins for our mains never was offered another drink then hear someone say the kitchen was closing so couldn't order dessert so ask a member of staff and told its oki the kitchen will stay open as other guests were late to dinner (other guests what about us that had waited over an hour between courses, head shake) still no offer of drinks!! We had 1 drink over the whole experience no member of staff around to ask!! Asked for a jug of water it was warm! Food was mediocre for the prices!! The girl who was serving was rude and we felt she didnt want to be there. We then waited another 45 - 60 mins to pay the bill and noone came to take it so we left to enjoy what was left of our evening to this morning find it all on our check out bill with a £17!! gratitude expense luckily we checked because we wasn't made aware of it and asked for it to be removed after the awful service.

The spa, Victoria was lovely and attentive

I could not take a shower as there was no way to isolate the flow from the bath taps to the shower. Usually there is a lever or push mechanism for the water to convert to the shower head. Nothing - I could have had a bath but really wanted to wash my hair. This is room 51 and needs sorting. Not keen on the grass roofs. My nephew was staying in No 57 and his complaint was the very stained roller blind

The breakfast was excellent with many choices and helpful staff

Unfortunately the service this time round was not as good as our first time we stayed . There didn’t seem enough staff . Was a wait at breakfast time waiting to be seated then waiting in the bar area because there was no one at the bar as they were trying to run the restaurant and bar . No fault of the staff they were very polite about it .
