I felt it had lost some exclusivity. It’s still expensive but is not as discrete or smart as it used to be - informal dining, no dress standard, as examples. Also the spa and Arkle Bar are not open Mon-Wednesday - yet no reduction in cost for loss of facility.

Very flimsy toilet seat which was surprising compared to the rest of the bathroom. When we booked, it said breakfast was included and this was confirmed in our email from the hotel with no mention of inclusive breakfast being continental only. On check in, we were told it would be continental with a £12.50 per person supplement for full English breakfast. We were not happy about this and queried it. At first, we were told it would be continental only, but we persisted and it was subsequently agreed by the hotel’s customer relations manager that due to the communication confusion, we would be upgraded to full English breakfast at no extra cost. There’s perhaps a need for clearer information in this respect. We were very satisfied that this was resolved.

Parking could allow you to come and go without charging you every time you left . If you paid at the hotel rather than the automated machines you could offer a little more flexibility but it was only a small matter.

We had a junior suite which was excellent in terms of space and facilities. Location was great for access to all the central areas of Chester. Staff were very friendly and efficient. Good night's sleep.

Nothing, loved it. One suggestion - breakfast is continental and included in the booking, it is substantial, although carb heavy. It would be nice to have a cooked option included in the price.

Everything was wonderful, calm and classy interior and atmosphere. The location was central, service and staff were exceptional. Felt relaxed from walking in and looking forward to our next visit.

Minibar prices were on the high side, albeit the brands on offer were very exclusive and high quality.

Great service from attentive staff, the hotel couldn't be better located, the room was spacious with a large and comfortable bed. The breakfast was promptly served with good choice and the additional options were reasonably priced. Check in and check out was simple and quick with a porter service and room demonstration. Door staff were on hand at all hours with helpful offers of service and general pleasantry which is a very welcoming touch. The parking arrangements are good, with the car park hotel entrance quick and efficient.

the hotel needs a refurbishment. for the price paid I didnt expect to fnd a clingy nylon shower curtain, or torn and frayed curtains at the bedroom window, or an ancient bathroom.

the staff are superb. the room was clean and the bed comfortable. the location is great and the optional valet parking is brilliant.

Booked a 'good breakfast' offer but then notified was continental. Should be clear at out set. Breakfast: toast a little over done; two small croissants, should be more or larger. Only one complimentary biscuit in room.

The staff were friendly and helpful Restraunts have fantastic atmosphere, ambience exceptional. Bedroom lovely, bed so big and comfy, excellent.
