Lighting in the room was dreadful, hardly any of the lightbulbs worked, water didn’t seem to get hot or cold so struggled for a warm bath and when running the tap for a drink of water

Booking.com stated superior room with garden views. It was ground floor with a view of cars. Floodlight shining through the window all night. Couldn't use Bath as the water just trickled out of the tap.

The internet! It is advertised on Booking.com as having free WiFi, but there was no internet available either via the WiFi or 4G. This was frustrating bc I had shortlisted the hotel bc I (reasonably) assumed that 'Free WiFi' implied that it would actually work. There were things I had planned to do during my stay that I had to delay as a result. It was so bad that I couldn't even book my taxi via the Uber app bc there was insufficient 4G coverage. I would expect a hotel (esp one with conference facilities) to have internet access but, if it did not, I would expect this to be made clear in the advertising and not to be labelled as having free wifi. Maybe Booking.com could look into some way of indicating (from feedback) how good the internet connection is? I didn't report this to staff, as it wasn't their fault and nothing they would have been able to do. There was another issue with the listing on the booking website, in that I had shortlisted this hotel bc I could choose a room with a balcony. Upon arriving, I found I was in a room without one and another guest had the same experience. As far as I could tell from the outside of the hotel, it does not have any rooms with balconies, so again, it seemed pointless complaining as I could hardly be moved to a room witha balcony if none exists! My room was lovely and the weather was far from lovely, so it wasn't too much of an issue, but I feel the listing (which was under the title 'junior suite with balcony') should have been correct.

Very clean, luxurious room with a clean and spacious bathroom. Staff were very helpful and friendly, especiallythe staff who did the room cleaning. They were wonderful. The pool and spa facilities were well maintained, clean and well managed. Having two menus (the restaurant and the bar/room service) with different styles of food was good, as I am more into the bar food than dining. The grounds were beautiful and, even though there was a wedding on one of the days of my stay, I found it didn't interfere at all with my stay.

There wasn't enough toilet paper for our two night stay. I was charged for someone else's meal - luckily I checked my bill on checkout, and I had been charged for two dinners, when we had only eaten there on one evening. The bad was uncomfortable as it was two single beds pushed together. It smelled a bit dusty in the room.

Only thing and it's if I was being picky, the lights in our room had different bulbs in each light so one was more of a warm yellow the other was bright white, as I said that's me being picky but my OCD didn't like that 😅

Staff was really friendly and helpful, we'd run out of shampoo in the room and they gave us some small bottles straight away. The gym was good, very basic equipment compared to the gym at home but for a hotel gym it was fine. The swimming pool, hot tub and steam room were amazing, the sauna was a bit too hot for my partner but we just went in the steam room which isn't as hot, managed to get the bubbles on in the hot tub once during our stay but couldn't figure out how to get them back on again after, the pool was lovely and warm. The room was amazing too, clean and very big, the bathroom had a huge shower and bath which we didn't use unfortunately but the shower was great, it did have a step up which I almost tripped on but I am clumsy. Not much around the immediate area but the town centre and Cheshire oaks aren't too far by car and there is an Aldi and a pub on the island not far from the hotel. Overall a lovely stay and have no complaints 😊

Dated decor, nobody on reception on arrival, had to wait 15 minutes before anyone turned up. Food choice poor, plus couldn't get in restaurant even though it was half empty. Shower was a dribble, no pressure at all, room was tidy but wouldn't say it was that clean. Pretty disappointing considering the price.

Setting was nice, room was ok, breakfast was decent.

The menu of the restaurant inside the hotel was poor and there were not many options. The presentation of the dishes was not the same as the description on the menu. The real disappointment for us was the spa part. We got a massage. It was max 20-25 min (£45 pp). Unfortunately, while the price was very high, the service was bad. We recommend that you work with more experienced staff(masseuse).

We had an incredible time. The staff was friendly and our room was very clean. The swimming pool and other facilities were very well maintained and clean.
