Shower enclosure but I am fully aware of the challenges to upgrade.

Good value for money. It's an old listed building which come with it's challenges for modernisation. You get what you paid for and it's fair. Service was good and breakfast was good. Shower issue in 1 room and we reported. Shower enclosure was small but we were only staying 1 night so we were not concerned.

The mattress wasn't the comfiest ..could feel and hear the springs on 1 side . Really needs a new shower curtain.

At the price we paid I honestly could not fault the property, staff, or accommodation.

Breakfast was excellent. Cycle security was excellent. Welcome from staff was excellent. There was no noise fom other guests that disturbed us and the area was peaceful with 2 great local pubs for dinner.

My only qualm would probably be the size of the accomadation. Our bathroom especially, it was tiny and quite hard to shower properly because of the size. However, being such an old character building I suppost these little quirks are to be expected but wouldn't be ideal for us if staying more than one night as my bf being 6ft5 would have felt a little too cramped.

Upon booking breakfast was included and as it was only £100 for the night for 3, so I wasn't sure what the quality would be like. However, I was very impressed the cooked breakfast was lovely and the concierge at all times was very attentive and catered to our every need.

The bathroom could do with a bit of TLC.

The building was very old and full of character located within a working farm. There is plenty of outside space and a limited bar. Brilliant location just a miles to Eastbourne and the Beach.

It was fine for me, but taller people would have to duck to get into the shower area. Unsurprisingly for such an old building the walls are thin so noise carries, although I didn't find it a problem.

Chalk Farm Hotel was comfortable and very convenient for walking on the South Downs. My room was very large with good quality tea, coffee and biscuits as well as a complimentary bottle of spring water. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The cooked breakfast was very good. The place has a lot of character and has an interesting George Orwell connection as it is thought that Animal Farm was based on Chalk Farm

TV didn’t work and despite best efforts of the person on duty, he couldn’t fix it. The room “Benjamin” was good, but the shower room was very basic.

Bed was uncomfortable and the bathroom was extremely small, my other half couldn't have a shower and he couldn't stand up straight in it, If you are 5ft you are fine, he is 6ft and couldn't use shower in the room

Shower pretty bad. Difficult to get the temperature correct and kept suddenly going hot or cold. However, minor compared to pluses for the price.
