The room was a little dark because of the positioning of the window, but there's nothing the owners can do about that because of the age of the building and location of the room in the property, so it's a minor quibble and shouldn't put you off. I believe other rooms have views of the cathedral.

The location alone is worth top marks. Literally a few minutes walk from the castle and cathedral and some great bars and restaurants, but also an enjoyable walk down to the centre for more shops and places of interest. The host Paul was a terrific host; very friendly and helpful and full of hints for best places to eat. And he cooks an awesome breakfast! The room was very comfortable and clean. The guesthouse dates back to the 1200s and so is charming and full of history with stone fireplaces and wooden beams.

Access to the small parking area is through an ancient archway off Eastgate & obviously designed for horse-drawn coaches.... not large SUVs or modern estate cars. Plenty of paint scrapes along the whitewashed brick walls!! Everything else was great.

Great location for everywhere in Lincoln that's at the top of 'Steep Hill!' If you haven't visited Lincoln, then be aware that Steep Hill is exactly that!! We were caught out on our first visit. Cathedral View is perfectly placed. Very comfortable and a friendly welcome. Off road parking. Would go back.

Squeaky bed

The guest house itself is old and quirky which is what we like and just a 2 min walk to the cathedral, castle and steep hill. Staff were friendly n helpful, breakfast was delicious and well presented. Our room (no 4)was lovely, clean, tidy although the bed was comfortable, it was squeaky.

The car park is a bit tight but it was big enough for a coach and horses, so just needed a little care... 😀

This is a gem of a location in the heart of the city with the Cathedral Quarter being right on the door step. Our room was large and comfortable and breakfast was excellent. If you like guesthouses with character and history then this is one for you... and it comes with a warm welcome.

More hooks eg in the shower room and bedroom would have been useful. The access to the shower room from our room (3) was awkward at the top of a winding stairwell, across an access corridor, and potentially dangerous for some people. Would not choose this room again.

The room was exceptional, the perfect cosy size, very clean, and at a brilliant cost when you consider its good location. The staff were also fantastic, and went out of their way to help us when my partner’s tyre went flat and we asked if we could leave the car parked there for a bit longer so the AA could come to us. I could not fault anything with our stay at all.
