Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

NetherlandsThere wasn't a reception. Our key was on the wall with our names on and we received clear instructions via the app on how to get into our room. Honestly it worked well. But maybe having someone on site to checkin with would have been nice for some people - but if you aren't fussy about that then it's ok. I would stay again.
Pleasantly surprised that keeping rooms warm is a thing in the Shetlands. Warm room, simple but hot reliable shower. Very nice. It's not like a modern hotel but felt cozy. Like staying at your Gran's but better. Breakfast was lovely and so was the lady who serves it. She gave us lots of nice conversation and helpful advise. I also like that the other tourists who stay here are totally not like the brits you find in Alicante The breakfast area is a place to hear interesting stories and pick up tips of where to go.

United KingdomComfy bed, delicious breakfast, nice staff, close to everywhere. It is located near the stunning Berwick view which was perfect for a morning or an afternoon walk. The view was amazing. There was several bus stops near the house as well that could take you to many places, including Scalloway, Sumburgh Head, Ferry terminals, Old market, etc. I felt like home. As an island girl myself, it was amazing to see how Shetlanders live. The Shetland Islands are really beautiful and people are really welcoming.

United KingdomNothing really. The blinds in bedroom are of an old model that gets entangled easily. I didn't try to hard to lower them down as I don't mind sleeping with a bit of light from outside. Someone who likes to sleep in the dark will be likely to close with the blinds. More vegetarian options at breakfast would have been good.
The room was very quiet with no traffic noise. The bed was comfy. Room and toilets were clean. Location was central. Staff was helpful.

The location was great, close to everywhere we wanted to go. It was easy to park outside. The room was comfortable and quiet with views out to the sea in one direction and the hills in the other. The atmosphere in Carradale was friendly and laid back and we started to feel relaxed almost the moment we arrived.
