Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomRestaurant filthy with years of stains. The bathroom and bedroom had dust ingrained which looked as though it had been there years. For the cost I would expect the cleanliness to be much better.
Indoor pool and even though we didn't use the spa that looked nice and staff where nice and polite too. Location great.

United KingdomThe kitchen in room was really smelly and the creaky floor boards drive us insane, they were connected to the neighbours room and anytime they moved around it was like there was someone in our room.
Good facilities for the 4year old. She loved swimming everyday.

United KingdomSome of the shared spaces need a little updating but for the money it was well worth it and I would go again.
Breakfast was basic, but cooked well and staff attentive and helpful. Room was large with a sea view and comfy bed. The fire and ice spa experience was lovely but changing facilities were lacking. Handy location

United KingdomThe family room was very dated, damp and the bathroom was disgusting. Mould all over the tiles and around the bath. The sink tap was broken and no towel heater to dry your towels in the day. the windows were full of condensation which led to more mould around the window. the spare blanket was as old as the building and made from some material I haven’t seen since the 1980’s No heating was on in the day, so I had to request a heater for the room to get rid of smell and damp.
That it had a good complex that came with it, that included bowling, arcade, pool and indoor swimming.

United KingdomRoom could do with some maintenance - flickering bulb in bathroom, wallpaper beginning to peel - nothing major but some easy fixes. Room was quite small - fine for us staying overnight, but wouldn't have wanted to do more than two nights out of there.
Room was clean and comfortable. Room includes a bath. Breakfast was better than expected for the price. Staff were all attentive and friendly.

United KingdomThe beds!!! Aaahhh so painful ...flat and the springs. Desperate to be replaced. So much new staff which will be great once they're trained but don't like when going down for breakfast, to wait by the entrance to the restaurant for the staff to be staring at you and then I had to ask can we just get a table ? To the reply... ohh uhh no ill go and ask. Why can't all the staff help to seat guests.? This was forming big ques at busy times. And look unprofessional.
Close to the town, for the shops. Close to the sea beautiful place Torquay but like ALL towns in need of much Tlc. Hotel is lovely but as 1st time visit in February we were lucky with the weather, hotel grounds need big clean up. As we were able to sit and eat and drink outside.... would be fabulous once clean and tidy..

United Kingdomtoo many steps for an older person, the towels in the bathroom room need to be bigger, I.e. bath sheets not small bath towels. I specifically asked for a walk in shower as my partner is 91 and can get into a bath so was unable to use it. Toiletries in bathroom could be better, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel.
the room size was good, restaurant was good and entertainment excellent

United KingdomWith a little thought the rooms could be so much better. There are no actual bedside lights - only dimmable spots which do not go very dim and obviously aren't at all controllable in terms of direction. This was problematic as I wanted to lower the lights when our son went to sleep (and to relax in the evening) but it's either bright or completely dark. There were also issues with the bathroom - not only was there no flat surface on which to place toothbrush, washbag etc (except a sloping shelf over the loo which left me worried my stuff would fall into the toilets) - there was also a gummy sweet stuck to the bathroom floor - not ours. The shower barely worked at all; just a trickle and I could not get it to run hot in the morning and had to have a cold shower, my partner managed tepid water later in the morning. Also, three people were booked in the room but we were only supplied with two very small towels. Finally, we were woken repeatedly in the night by groups of people shouting good night to each other right outside our door (including well after midnight). on another note, I have never managed to get a parking space on my various stays at this hotel complex and therefore have to keep rushing about moving my van to various on-street spots.
The room was nice in many ways, and we had a lovely sea view. The location is also convenient for what I need to do in Torquay. It would be much improved with the correction of some irritating design flaws in the room (and maybe some notices reminding clientele not to yell in the corridors at night). I like the public facilities at this hotel - the breakfast was good, the pool is nice and we love the pool tables, table tennis which help keep my 9-year-old entertained.
