Breakfast could have some improvements made, everyone has personal preference, but the Charlton hotel do not serve blueberries at breakfast, they do not have avocados on the breakfast menu either. More attention could be please had on the cleanliness of the room, a few hairs found on the bedroom carpet, maybe change to vinyl flooring.

I liked some of the decor and facilities in the room, it seems as though the room has had some changes compared to other rooms. Modern curtains, USB power sockets and a new television. I liked the location of the hotel and the staff were friendly. The hotel sell Harrogate glass bottled water at the Charlton reception which was very useful to take back up to the room. Good download speed and upload speed across the whole of the Charlton hotel for my work digital video calls in the room.

I didnt like that the room isnt sound proof.

The fact that the room has a fridge and a kitchenette was lovely. The option for breakfast was nice too. However the ground keeps on shrieking everytime we go to bed hence the bed is also uncomfortable because its too fidgety for the ground. Also, the lift is not updated where we stayed so we have to take the stairs with our buggy or pram for both our kids.

As we arrived in a hotel there was a massive bird poo on the window, covering the beautiful view from the window. I reported it to the reception , but poo was still on the window when we left. One of the reason this we chose this hotel is because they had tennis court, court was unusable as net pole was broken. Not a good breakfast.

Indoor pool was a saviour coming with children.

We stayed in the apartment, it's very outdated, the sofa/bed was minging and not comfortable at all. The carpets weren't the best either. Didn't ruin our stay and still had everything we needed but could do with an update.

The resort is perfect, has a lot to offer and is great for everyone. With the right weather it gives an abroad style hotel with the pools and entertainment. The location is perfect.

Room a bit tired, could do with a refurb. Very little entertainment in the evening for the children. Breakfast very basic, not much choice.

Fantastic swimming pool. Children enjoyed the arcade and softplay. Ideal location, walking distance to the centre of Torquay.

Very warm room. Warm hotel overall actually. I was expecting more of a buzz but it was pretty empty and VERY geared up for the over-70s. Strange having so many empty spaces around the hotel but I guess it’s busier in peak season (this was Easter hols). Menus were uninspiring in the restaurants and were expensive for a set menu. Breakfast cost a FORTUNE. I paid for adult and child. Child didn’t want anything as nothing was suitable (yes, she’s very fussy but still!). It wasn’t the best brekky I’ve had - how do you ruin a hash brown?

The pool is amazing. Such a lovely space. And the Aztec Bar has good food etc. The room was clean but VERY warm. No option to open a window. The staff were all friendly. The entertainment was entertaining! Daughter LOVED the animals show! That was really great.

Didnt realise parking was 10 pound per day if you don't book direct (seems a little unfair) also not guaranteed a space even tho we had paid for 3 days parking. found someone's else's bra in my sons room so not the best .

Swimming facilities were great . Staff friendly .

The evening entertainment on our dates was definitely for the older residents. Our room 38 was in need of some electrical tlc in the bathroom but this didn't spoil our stay.

Perfect location within easy reach of all local attractions, the town and seafront. Great for our family get together, we all enjoyed the leisure facilities, sorry we did not have time to visit the games room. The breakfast and service was great, staff very happy to help and informative.

On arrival we were given a room with only stair access despite constant messages that we have a wheelchair user. We were left in that room over night and had to stay in because of having to carry a person in a wheelchair up and down stairs. This was a serious health and safety and fire risk. The Decor and carpets were outdated and floorboards very noisy. The lift to was very small. Also the hotel was sold as a 4 star but is actually a 3 star.

Bedrooms need an upgrade as well as the bathrooms and also air conditioning needs installing as was very warm at night. More food selection for the kids in the evening meal would be nice.

Large hotel and lovely indoor swimming facilities open until late which was good as was a little quieter. Rooms large enough for family of 4. Half board basis was good, good selection of food in the mornings and evening meals were nice.

So on this occasion our room wasn’t serviced in the day for two days, even though we made a conscious effort to ensure we were out of the room this resulted in needing to go to reception to ask for toilet roll which for the price of this hotel shouldn’t be happening. Whilst at reception the receptionist said ‘come on I’m trying to go home’ when asking for toilet roll which I considered quite rude seen as I see toilet roll and a basic of a hotel room. There was also an occasion where we used the Aztec cafe where I was told there were no tea or coffee available this was at 7pm on a Sunday, as our room also hadn’t been serviced this meant no hot drinks were available to us. Also whilst sat in the cafe with a cold drink on the same occasion staff were hovering around us making us feel as if we needed to leave not the relaxing evening I was looking for.

I’ve stayed at this location multiple times and never had any problems, ran into a few minor ones on this stay. The staff are very friendly and usually always accommodating. The hotel is in a great location and the Aztec spa is always clean. The breakfast is always great.
