Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe cottage location was just a few yards from the high street, but quiet and peaceful. It was set in a fabulous well lit garden, with plenty of seating. The accomodation was clean, spacious, comfortable and warm. The owner kindly provided a generous breakfast basket, and a fresh Christmas tree and door wreath which was a lovely surprise. Parking was easy.

United StatesFinding parking near in the middle of the afternoon can be difficult. The neighbor has a flood light that shines into the bedroom at night.

SwitzerlandWe loved our stay, so I share this information so it is available -- one bedroom has a shower and the other only has a tub. We (parents in their 70s and child + partner in their 40s) managed just fine sharing the shower and using the tub on occasion. Also, if like me, you like to sleep in a dark cave (haha), then I would bring an eye-mask, as the rooms did get light early due to the long British summer. However, neither of these things would stop me recommending or coming back.
Campden Mews is an absolutely gorgeous cottage; well designed and furnished; incredibly beautiful, inside and out with a stunning garden. The property is in the center of the high street -- after going through a blue door, you are whisked away to a Narnia-like oasis of calm. We cooked one night at home and ate in the garden a couple of times and had all the amenities we needed. The downstairs toilet was very convenient and the electric fireplace was a really nice touch for cozy evenings enjoying a cake or cheese board from the excellent Fillet & Bone next door. Our host was responsive, helpful and kind. We absolutely did not want to leave, and would recommend this place for a family or 2 couples.

United KingdomSmall pillows made sleeping less comfortable than we would have liked, but it's a minor quibble.
Beautiful cottage in a perfect location. Well appointed throughout and a lovely garden. Great location too, within walking distance of the local cafes and restaurants, and ideal for exploring the wider area.

United KingdomOnly thing I didn't like was the weather was not warm enough to enjoy the beautiful country garden
The accommodation was absolutely beautiful. The cottage had everything we needed to enjoy a weekend with our friends. The decor was so comforting and it almost felt like we were in a movie. We usually cook when we go away but decided this time around we would eat out however I wish we had just stayed in and cooked as it was a real home from home vibe. The host was fantastic and friendly and even better that she lived local so she could recommend places to visit and eat. We had a fantastic stay and will be sure to return next year

The property is in an excellent location in the centre of Chipping Campden. The facilities were immaculate and little details such as the room fragrance made it feel even more like home. a breakfast hamper, with milk in the fridge was a lovely touch. The living room was really homely and had access to catch up tv and films to entertain us on the evenings. The 2 bedrooms are incredibly spacious, my partner enjoyed utilising the bath tub after a long day of walking.

United KingdomOverall, it was a wonderful stay, but there were a few things which would have made the stay better. There were signs with warnings about stains in the living room, which was no conducive to relaxing well in there. There we no curtains in the dinning and kitchen area which was very strange when spending time eating and drinking in there in the evenings (refer to above) The gate to the garden didn’t 't shut properly, which it needed to do to make it feel more private.
I brought my mum to the cottage for her birthday and she felt very treated as it was so beautiful. The cottage is beautiful and very stylish, the owner has no doubt got an amazing eye for detail. The kitchen had absolutely everything you need, a home from home. The location of the cottage is fabulous, easy for walking around the village and site seeing nearby. The outside area was also gorgeous to look and enjoy from inside (as it wasn't warm enough to spend time out there) Beds VERY comfy!! Wonderful stay over all...
