Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomWe didn’t think the breakfast was that good for the price.
The hotel is really lovely, the atmosphere is great and the staff were great. Our room had everything we needed and was really comfortable and cosy. We will definitely stay here again the next time we are in Cambridge.

Location and car parking even though it wasn’t cheap but was convenient. And the location is excellent.

United KingdomOur two rooms could have been much closer together. The laminate floor of our bedroom made it feel functional rather than luxurious.
Good breakfast and dinner for family. Comfortable public areas and outdoor section by the river. Very comfortable quiet and spacious rooms. Friendly staff. Central location.

Great central location so everywhere an easy walk, with a lovely riverside location which gave great atmosphere on a sunny weekend when we stayed. Had a really lovely meal in the Garden House. All staff exceptionally friendly and helpful.

United KingdomTV not working and missing small items in the room/in need of repair. Dog friendly but not a single bin/poo bin on grounds - had to walk into town to drop-off a poo bag. Dog bowl in room was dirty on arrival.
Location, friendly staff and comfortable bed. Reduced charges when raised matters on checkout.

United KingdomThe additional £25 per night parking. The decor was rather odd and couldn’t check in till after four. They promised a text when the room was ready but it never came. The restaurant is well located but very expensive for what you get (£38 for a sirloin steak with fries and a few leaves from a salad bag , plus tiny side sauce).
Great mattress and pillows, plus quiet. Our room very near pool too (but some quite far away).

United States of AmericaAn unrequested upgrade put us in their penthouse. A few oddities here and there (unsafe, slippery bathroom floor and shower, squeaky-clean floor -- REALLY squeaky) but very nice efforts.
Very friendly, helpful staff in the lobby and cafe.

United KingdomThe room was rather on the small side for the money. We paid extra for a room with a balcony and although the weather wasn't exactly conducive to being able to sit outside, the cushions on the chairs were covered in green algae so it would not have been a pleasant experience anyway.

United Kingdom£35 per night per dog was extortionate, and free disabled car parking would have been good. The breakfast was ok, hot food not particularly hot, had a meal in the evening, potatoes not cooked properly, friends boned fish had the head on still therefore not deboned and my medium steak was burnt on the outside.
Location was excellent, staff were fantastic

United KingdomThe service in the bar which we visited twice had two young girls behind the bar who didn’t appear to have had much training. One just wiped glasses for at least 5 minutes ignoring us . We had a similar experience at breakfast with young girls and had to ask 3 times for coffee and tea.
Location, decoration, facilities, everything was lovely. Staff on front desk etc were great.

United KingdomService. At the restaurant and bar. Long waits even when not many people. I was on holiday and wanted to indulge but no chance. Say for lunch wanted a bottle of champagne. Waited 30 mins to be served and then never had any attention. The girls were off on their phones. Complete wasted opportunity to make money. It’s as if they just don’t want to sell you anything. In fact because the service was so bad I kept being given free drinks. So they were losing so much money. It looked like no one was managing the staff. Not the staffs fault but management. If there is any.

United KingdomThe service lacked somewhat, and attention to detail of service. We were checked in by Marina on the front desk who was great, really helpful and friendly! We went for a drink in the garden and the service was poor!! Nobody tending to tables, took 30 minutes for a glass of wine to arrive and that was only because the host had come to settle our bill and I brought up that our drinks had not arrived. She apologised and then no bill was provided to confirm amount, just put in to card machine for me to tap my card! Breakfast was lovely but again, service and turn over of tables was poor, attention to detail was about 50% there, the idea was there but the execution was not.
The rooms were lovely, the option of the upgrade was well worth it, the balcony was really nice with the river view (albeit we were in the loft!!) The bar and foyer area were an amazing centrepiece, a real nice place to relax in the evening. Breakfast was nice, fresh food, Lots of options.

United KingdomA little cheeky that the guy at reception didn’t tell us about the parking charge before hand! He just asked if we were using the car park but failed to mention it was £25 so we had no choice but to pay it next day. I thought that was quite expensive to park your car for one night on top of the room stay.

United KingdomOur only slight frustration was with the restaurant & breakfast at Garden House. Lunch/dinner menu selection is small & overpriced. All the options were too heavy and not ideal for summer (other than a £20 Greek salad…). Took us a while to have our order taken despite getting the attention of two waiters. At breakfast, there was a lack of organisation. Tables outside set up with tablecloths on but no cutlery / condiments. Not a large selection for breakfast given the price either! Everything felt really cramped on the bar space & randomly ordered so people were having to squeeze round each other a lot. No one seemed to be restocking items very quickly (eg plates / bowls / food) and nowhere for you to get cutlery from yourself so you have to ask staff etc. Also the tea / coffee station is poorly set up. Tea bags were left inside the hot water jugs to over-stew rather than leaving tea bags separate for guests to then pour hot water into (also no other tea than English Breakfast). No one offered us another coffee option other than the instant on the bar, so had to ask ourselves for a latte / cappuccino etc (only because we saw another couple asking!). Food was lovely but a bit more organisation & order would make it a smoother experience for guests, given the price.
Hotel is in a lovely location by the river & close to The Mill & The Anchor pubs which have a great atmosphere outside in the summer. The reception staff were very lovely & welcoming. The decor is absolutely fantastic & feels very luxurious. Room was spacious and clean, bed very comfortable. Lovely bathroom products too!
