Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United Kingdom£9 for a chopped apple and bits of watermelon with orange juice poured on top is hardly a bowl of mixed fruit in the breakfast. Similarly, some of dinner options were poor value for high prices.
Location is wonderful. Comfortable accommodation. Very pleasant breakfast staff.

United KingdomMy ‘Hive’ in the woods was certainly comfortable but a few additions IMO would make it worthy of the price tag. A luxurious indoor feature bath! A comfortable indoor seating area, there was only a chair and table. Maybe the gorgeous decor of the main house echoed in that of the Hives. There were handprints on the glass windows, empty shower cap box and a toothpaste splodge in the bathroom when I arrived, apart from that it was clean 🤔 However it is still most pleasant and I enjoyed my stay and I would still massively recommend this hotel. An enticing offer of B&B would be much appreciated
The main house, dining room, assorted sitting rooms and coach house are beautiful. The level of service in the dining room was 10/10 when I was there. The food also was excellent, with a price tag to match no less. The setting is glorious and the treatments in the coach house were incredible

United KingdomWe liked most things but did think more light was needed in the hives, it felt a bit dark at times!
Callow Hall is a gorgeous historic property, the styling is immaculate and immediately creates a relaxing and welcoming environment. We decided to stay in one of the Hives and I’m so glad we did, Rosebay was situated in the middle of the woods next to the hotel and the views of the countryside and bluebells were beautiful and calming. The food and drink was also excellent. The staff were professional but laid back. We can’t recommend highly enough!

Isle of ManBreakfast items were individually priced - would have preferred a set price for a full breakfast.
Very welcoming - lovely gentleman who showed us around and took us to our room, carrying our bags. Loved the eco and sustainability ethos of the hotel. Wonderful open fire in the check in area. Complimentary chocs went down well too. Beautifully decorated and great location. Lots of lovely welcoming touches.

United KingdomNothing - it was stunning.
It was a beautiful boutique hotel - we had a slight issue with the room to begin with, and it was sorted and they couldn’t do more to make it right throughout our entire stay. It surprised us actually how much they went out of their way to make it special for us. Couldn’t recommend this hotel more.

United KingdomBreakfast generally a little sub-par and somewhat expensive for what you got. Happy to spend on quality for supper but felt this let it down somewhat. Wasn’t told milk was available in a hidden fridge in the hallway.
Every room a delight to the senses - visually the rooms were very tastefully decorated throughout the hotel (particularly liked the array of rooms downstairs with fires, available for mingling privately prior to supper) and each smelled incredible. The hallway as you enter the hotel instantly sets the scene for an escape to luxury and relaxation. Especially liked the two chairs by the full length window as you climb the stairs - fabulous.

United KingdomThe options on TV were not enough. Given, around 500 pounds is charged per night the TV could be provided with Netflix, Prime etc.
We booked the hive and it was lovely. If you like a quite holiday within nature, this is the place for you! The view from the room and terrace was lovely. Each hive is given their own mini Christmas tree! The hive has a small kitchenette which was also very handy. We were also provided with a nespresso machine, some crisps and some biscuits, which was a nice touch. There was also a mini radio which was lovely.

United KingdomThe carpark was disgusting and muddy, not what you expect from such a prestigious establishment and needs attention. You also need more car parking when you have large lunch events like you had Thursday, can I suggest you organize something off-site and bus guests in.
Location and friendliness and attention of staff which made my wife on her 70th birthday celebration feel special.
