A few nightly things - I was provided with two mostly used toilet rolls with hardly any toilet paper. I’m all for using a full roll of toilet roll but giving a full roll in reserve is just good manners. Only one plug socket on each side of the bed which were taken up by the lamp plugs, so you have to chose between charging your gadgets and light, at night. The window in the room didn’t stay open The thermostat couldn’t be changed at various points as it was “centrally controlled” frequently making the room too hot. The receptionist didn’t give a lot of information at check in so I ended up wondering around the corridors quite a lot, looking for the bar and public areas. For a superior room, the decor it was a little bland/sparse

The air-conditioning was difficult to master and the room was cold. We were about the furthest from the hotel dining room and bar. Quite a long tab for and elderly couple.

Very central, the pub was very good and breakfast was excellent. Car park facilities were good.

The access for wheelchairs which is over stones. Not the easiest to traverse. Would benefit from a wet room for wheelchair users to shower.

Nothing to mention here as all was good. Room 210 though didn’t have a working bathroom extractor fan so we had to open the windows after having a shower to let the moisture disperse.

Location was good. Room kept very clean and plenty of tea bags etc. comfy bar if needed and bar staff were very friendly and helpful. Shampoo, conditioner and shower gel provided was lovely. Room was comfortable and general hotel was also very clean.

The bathroom needs to be updated. It was clean but tired.

Perfect location in the town centre, very convenient. Supermarket across the road, lots of restaurants nearby. Easy walking distance to train station. The rooms are large, provide tv, ironing board and iron, fridge with complimentary water, tea and instant coffee, kettle. Shampoo, conditioner, soap and shower gel are in refillable bottles which is great (no small plastic throw-away bottles).

I feel like for the price , we upgraded to a garden room , the little things were missed . The refreshments need some attention and no bath mat so in and out the bath , a towel was used . Just sill little things for the price of the upgrade I would have expected a higher standard .

The hotel is in the middle Of town so excellent for immediate shopping . The room was very warm and clean . The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was really lovely . Staff were really friendly.

The service charge room charge should just be noted on the service charge menu rather than just being in the terms and conditions. Happy to pay it just good to be aware before it arrives.

On our last morning, they were doing renovations below or above us and it was very noisy the whole morning......had they put us further away from the renovating part ..it would have been quieter and more enjoyable

The lighting in the rooms was not really adequate, even with all the lights on it was still a bit gloomy. The one major downfall is that for a hotel of that size there is no lift. If like us your room was on the top floor at the far end it is a route march. In fact after conversations with other guests some had only taken exactly what they needed to their room as it was too far to carry their whole bag.

Room was very clean and tidy , staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was very good if maybe a little pricey, the same with the bar, well stocked but a bit expensive.

We stayed 2 nights but didn’t have room refreshed on the second day, we got overlooked and had to ask for more teabags etc. small coffee machine would have been nice instead of instant coffee.

Beautifully decorated hotel in a lovely old building. Like a home from home. Staff are very helpful, friendly and professional from reception, restaurant to the cleaning staff.

Room looks like freshly painted you can smell. Suggest to let it circulate to remove the paint odour.

Bathroom was dated and could use a refurbishment. Staff in the bar were not friendly at all.

Room was clean, comfortable and a decent size. Really enjoyed the lounge/bar area. Parking lot in front of hotel was very convenient.
