Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomOur room was in the annex part of the complex, had to go through several doors and back outside to inside to get to our room - ridiculous. Chemical smell all night from the radiator when on. Mediocre room basically a travel lodge - not that clean (telephone is sticky and dusty)
From the outside it looks lovely - but it’s just an over priced travel lodge. Smoking bin right outside annex means when you leave you get hit by a wall of other people’s smoke it stinks. Restaurant is just a typical British menu everything with chips, staff are unfriendly and have a can’t be bothered attitude, customers in there all had coughs so was quite off putting paid £21 for two wraps and you could have used the oil from the chips to heat a small fire

Was near to where we needed to be, the room was average, bed comfy, bathroom nice, nice carpeting and clean

United KingdomBecause I booked by third party booking, it was not allowed to use spa & gym and I have to pay £20 to use these facilities but the receptionist said that if I book directly everything will be included. I found this very not fair because the value to book on booking is to find easily good places with good value. The hair dryer was broken

United KingdomI was in the bungalows which are away from the main building and a walk through a maze of corridors. Feels a bit out on a limb but quiet and out of the way. Would probably have preferred to be in main building. The spa should be included in the price (which is pricy for the area anyway).
The hotel is set in countryside away from it all. It is obviously used as a wedding venue and the grounds are very clean and tidy. The rooms are clean and spacious but as per most hotels of this size lack any character or charm. The room was ok. I didnt get chance to try the bar or restaurant so cant comment on that.

United KingdomNo air con in the function room. Breakfast was good but when croissants had run out, no more were brought out. For those paying £20+ for breakfast, this is unacceptable. Check-in and checkout was slow and disorganised. £20 to use spa each day was a bit steep. Would have been nice to have weekend access option and a reduced rate.
Amazing wedding venue. Lovely sized room and bathroom. Great shower. Superb gym and spa on site. Great breakfast.

United KingdomLarge room but felt very empty, not enough art work on walls to combat echo. Also not enough lighting, no ceiling lights just lamps. Some staff seemed simply uninterested and unhelpful. They explained has I had booked using booking.com I couldn’t have a room tab as I’d already payed. They tried to convince me that was normal practice until I explained every other hotel I’ve used (including a few days prior) simply took another swipe of my card for bar and room service ! I should say that there was a very helpful lady (middle aged short blonde hair sorry I should of got her name) during the breakfast service but other than her no one else seemed to even smile never mind be helpful. We paid the same amount per night going through booking.com has some of our relatives did who paid direct but because we used bookings.com we had to pay an extra £20 per person for the spa and another £12 per person for Breakfast which was only mediocre anyway. So paying £146 for room only plus £40 (£20 each)for spa and £24 (£12 each) for breakfast made it a £210 per night stay for two people !!!! That was not at all fair or reasonable for what we’re we experienced in terms of facilities or service . Had we of realised we would of stayed elsewhere. Advice to hotel would be to step up customer service training, start with the basics and get the staff to smile, be less abrasive. Show some common sense and be less argumentative.
Grounds and wedding venue were beautiful

IrelandWe had a meal in the bar which we had previously booked as there were 18 of us. However, no one mentioned that you had to order your food at the bar so we sat waiting for 30/40 mins for someone to serve us. Then when we did order all the meals did not come at the same time so some guests had finished their meal before other meals arrived. Each person was ordering and paying for themselves so maybe this had an impact, but we were all on the same table so common sense would have been to bring them altogether 🥴. My sister and I we’re staying at the hotel and paid for breakfast. We had the full English, which was nice but weren’t given or offered any toast which was included. Grapefruit segments were on the menu but not available and when I asked I was told if they weren’t on the buffet there wasn’t any. We we’re at breakfast by 8am and it was quiet, so it wasn’t that the grapefruit had been eaten, there just wasn’t any 😳. Staff wise all were pleasant except for one male staff member, who seemed like he was in charge. He was a bit curt and off hand, he didn’t make us feel like welcome guests, more like an annoyance. Finally we had a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc wine with dinner - there was only a choice of 3 white wines, but I thought it was overpriced at £30 a bottle. Overall I think the venue is a bit over-priced and would be reluctant to stay there again.
