Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe room we stayed in was very hot, there was a fan in the room but the window didn’t open very wide so it retained the heat.
Beautiful surroundings, quiet with lots of wildlife. Lots of seating space indoors and outdoors. We had light bites for the evening which were good and it was nice not to have to have a full meal. Breakfast was lovely with lots of choice.

United KingdomThe water ran cold in our room on the first day of our stay. We had a lukewarm bath. We then had to change rooms for the second night. It was lovely to be upgraded but annoying to have to repack and move.
The location was peaceful and stunning. Well sited for exploring the area. Plenty of lounges and places to relax,

United KingdomHonestly, the breakfast was a little disappointing. Great selection but the scrambled eggs on toast I had and the cooked breakfast my partner had were very bland. Cooked, just flavourless sadly.

United KingdomOur room wasn't as sumptuous as we had hoped and we had a view of the car park, which was disappointing. I don't think our room justified the price.
The bathroom was lovely , the sitting room next to the reception was beautiful and the breakfast was very good.

United KingdomClean and comfortable hotel in a great location in the New Forest, friendly welcoming staff and a relaxed atmosphere. We came in an electric car, so the EV charging point was very welcome. Breakfast and lunch were good and the service was good too.

United KingdomSome of the furniture in the restaurant area was a bit tired. Some minor maintenance issues were present in some areas (damp/peeling walls).
The hotel is located on beautiful grounds, surrounded by deer and greenery. The building is gorgeous and the decor and furniture is carefully curated and in keeping with the style and era. The room was quiet, spacious and felt cozy. The bathroom had a selection of toiletries and we were provided with plenty of fresh towels. Good water pressure and hot water on demand. Breakfast was good and although there was a limited selection of items, they were all freshly made and tasty. The staff was welcoming, polite and catered to all our needs. The receptionist in particular was very helpful and assisted me with a personal problem I was facing. The hotel was clean and tidy and the grounds were beautifully kept.

A beautiful hotel that could be amazing. Lack of staff meant that several guests decided that the 10 minute plus wait for a member of staff at the bar was too much and walked to the local pub. The staff that were on duty however in the main were amazing except for one gentleman who looked like he had been forced to work there for community service. We will definitely be back as the location, surroundings and beauty of the building is fantastic.

United KingdomPerhaps a little picky, but the wi-fi was almost non-existent in our room (1) - perhaps the positioning of the repeater etc. but seemed to be fine elsewhere in the building.

United KingdomThe hotel seemed very short staffed which is terrible given the high room rate. One chap seemed to do everything. He worked extremely hard. There were no rails or holds to assist in getting into the shower. The magnifying mirror was broken and useless. Breakfast was OK, but the service was VERY slow and the waiter was the chef as well. For £17.00 a head I would expect better. One of the staff members had been drafted in from another hotel as they were so short staffed. Disappointing.
The room was very nice and should have been considering the high room per night rate! The linens/bed were good. The view from the Garden room was lovely. It was very quiet. It was nice and warm. There was plentiful hot water, again only to be expected.
