Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Everything! From the moment we were met by Richard and taken to the island, it was the most fabulous experience. The staff are wonderful. Simon and his team are simply the best. The food, cocktails, our suite and the best service ever made it a 60th birthday and holiday of a lifetime. Any minor concerns were dealt with promptly and professionally. The lovely lady who ran breakfast and delivered birthday cake was a beautiful soul. Special mention to all the bar staff, especially Victor and Andreas, Martina, Vlad and Abby. Simon ...a pure gentleman in every sense of the word!

BelgiumThe staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The room and food were fantastic. The atmosphere takes you right back to splendid art deco times. It really feels like Poirot would pop in at any moment. As an Agatha Christie fan, I had the time of my life.

United KingdomThe bed linen wasn’t as crisp as I’d expect for the price of the stay; it felt a little overused. There seemed to be an element of disorganisation, especially regarding the use of the sea tractor
It’s uniqueness! The decor is sublime and the staff exceptional - there but not there, so I guess it’s best to say discreet with their attentiveness

United KingdomIt would have been nice to be able to clean-off our wet + sandy boots before we entered the hotel's lobby/Palm court bar. Although it may have been unavoidable, we were very sorry that we couldn't 'have a ride' on the sea-tractor. We always wish thateverywhere, there was an option to provide constructive, written, feedback whilst at the site,eg.There were a couple of small but notable issues with the room-furnishings - and, unless we can inform the hotel without seeming to be complaining, these issues will be likely to be a problem and annoyance to every other guest, until they go significantly wrong.
Food was all excellently made and with portions at just right. Staff were very helpful, friendly and almost faultless(I'm being picky). The decor and condition, inside and outside, and especially in our room, put a permanent smile on our faces. It was a very pleasant and comfortable hotel and place to be

United KingdomIf anything just the fact that we couldn't eat a light lunch in the Nettleford as previously told we could but we went to the Pilchard Inn instead.
The whole experience was brilliant from start to finish. We knew within 20 mins of arriving that we would want to stay again. We loved how nostalgic the hotel was it was like stepping back in time but with a modern facility twist. Firstly met by a car to drive us to the hotel from the mainland. Very well organised We had a lovely warm welcome with Simon, who was very attentive and gave us a complimentary glass of Champagne. It was very warm for October so it was quite hot in the Palm Court Conservatory, but was exceptional such a lovely place to relax. Our room, The Jane Marple Room which was one of the smallest but we loved it all the same. It had an exceptional view across the sea and the mermaid pool which is a private swimming bay for their guests. Coffee/Tea machine. all amenities catered for. We were also given a complimentary half bottle of Champagne, a hand written slip and a printed card too, as it was our 10th year of marriage, for which we were truly grateful. Such a lovely touch. The bed although a small double (its a small room reflected in the cost) was very comfortable with lovely sheets, very nicely set. The Nettleford restaurant was very nice and the Champagne breakfast was amazing. We were sat in the window overlooking the causeway. The drinks were very good and overall we felt it was value for money. We sat in the Captain’s Cabin for our evening meal which was very nice. Over all it was a lovely stay.

United KingdomNothing.
From the days/weeks leading up to our stay the communication from the staff to myself about our stay was great. Every member off staff from the cleaners, Dan in the pub, Steve who drove the tractor, Vlad who greeted us on arrival, Jamie who served us drinks were all exceptional, not just these though I mean everyone who worked there went above and beyond to make our 2 night stay magical. The hotel, pub and whole island are steeped in history and I would definitely recommend trying by this experience because that’s what it is, an experience. We wanted to experience both formal and informal nights so did one night in the pub and the second night in the grand ballroom (Black tie) the food on both nights as well as breakfast in the hotel were good quality and really nice, the chef in the pub (Josh) knows what he is doing, the chef/chefs in the hotel produced beautiful food aswell. Will definitely go back.

United KingdomThe only thing we could think of to improve the room we stayed in would be the bedding. We felt that the duvets and pillows were tired and the cotton bedding did not feel very luxurious.
We really enjoyed the atmosphere and friendliness of the hotel. The uniqueness of the building and location is wonderful.
