The television signal was a challenge and kept cutting out; the shower took about 4 minutes to warm up in the morning which was an initial shock but good when we adjusted to it.

The staff were very friendly and helpful; the food was delicious and varied besides having interesting varieties of salads and vegetables as a result of the hosts' background.

Would like the bar and restaurent to have been open in the evening but fully understand not justified that time of year. The honesty bar was a good alternative .11

Perfect place for you if you're traveling with your bike or motorcycle. They provide private garage for you bicycle. Staff are very welcoming! Best hotel I've lived in during my journey.

A pity they didn't offer the full bar and meal package for the winter months but I'm sure they have a valid reason for this as they are still in business.

Very convenient to all amenities and free parking spaces available in the centre. Almost unheard of these days. Lovely and welcoming hosts.

Everything very welcoming family who went beyond call of duty to make your stay better . We all thought very well organised and ran! Breakfast great! I mentioned I liked walking they have devised amazing book on walks and hikes in surrounding area!! I didnt get time to look but will be back with my walking buds for weekend away!!! Xxx

The hotel is very central to everything and had plenty of parking options. It was cosy and clean. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was excellent. I’d definitely go back and have no hesitation in recommending it to others.

Everything was brilliant.

From start to finish, the team were brilliant. Check-In was super easy, and they helped my wife take some bags down to the room while I took care of the dog. We had dinner there on the first night which was well received after a long journey to get there. I also had the cooked breakfast in the morning that filled me up nicely for the day. What really stood out was our Check-Out experience. We decided to leave a day early as the family we were up there to see were unfortunately flooded in so we couldn't get to them, nor them to us. We were quite willing to accept that we'd lose the cost that we should've paid for the last nights stay, however, without the blink of an eyelid and about 1 minute after getting back into the room, I had an email through saying that the cost of my stay had been cut from 3 nights to 2 nights. Absolutely brilliant hospitality that's driven me to write my first review in many many years. Outstanding work, Team Buccleuch.
