The whole experience was wonderful. The rooms we beautifully clean with comfortable beds. The food was exceptional, with huge portions and a fabulous selection. The staff we all very welcoming, friendly and couldn't do enough for you.

Wonderful accommodation. The staff were all friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Food was amazing and a nice selection to chose from. Lovely outside space to sit in the sun as we did with a drink.

This hotel is a real gem. Traveled up from Devon for a car show and only stayed one night, wish it was more! My room was spotless, and the shower was really powerful, the beds really comfy too. We had a meal in the restaurant in the evening which was superb. To summarise a great hotel in a great location, and lovely friendly staff, what’s not to like 😀

Everything was great.

We booked The Shakespeare Suite for a treat. The room was lovely. The staff were helpful and kind. We had a tasty meal in the restaurant. All in all, a perfect stop over. You have to have your wits about you to avoid banging your head on the ancient beams :)

Having stayed at the Broom hall Inn in the autumn of 2022, I hoped this 2 night stay would be as good. It was. The property is very well run, with high standards and very friendly (and happy), and accommodating staff. The room was the same one we had previously stayed in and was still to a very high standard. The food choices and quality were excellent. When in the area we shall stay here again.

Headroom in bathroom tight over sink but as expected in a loft room. Picture of bedroom shows sloping ceiling and is good representation of reality. Good trade off for character room in period property.

Not much - inevitably in an old building there was a bit of noise between rooms and between floors but not much you can do about that. Bathroom was a little damp-smelling but again, realistically not much can be done - it was perfectly clean. Would happily stay again.

All good - very clean, comfortable, great staff and good value for money. Breakfast good as well.

We have come here every year for the past 3 years. It has really good food and we have always had a good stay in their rooms. The rooms are always clean and comfortable. First time this year we stayed in one of their cottages. Everything is to satisfaction and very clean. Debbie, the breakfast waitress is amazing. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The food has generous portions and tastes so good. The fruit salad is very good and always fresh. Food is made fresh every day. I can vouch for the fish pie. It had a generous topping of cheese and was very satisfying & moreish. 16oz rump steak was really good too. Flavoursome and filling. If you want to enjoy the fine food here it's advisable to book ahead. If arriving later in the day, on a busy day you may be out of luck on some of their popular dishes.

Noisy plumbing but just a minor point

Liked The historic building ,Good room , excellent breakfasts and friendly staff . Didn’t eat during the day apart from breakfasts but local friends say the food is excellent and eat there often

The issue was with customer behaviour. In the main pub area, one couple had a dog which was sat up to table on a chair, being fed from their meals. I like dogs, however, how you let your pet behave at home should not be carried through in public eating areas. Dogs, though much loved, are animals not children, however well behaved. The thought of inadvertently sitting on a chair, in an eating area, after a dogs anus has been parked on it is quite revolting.

The ambience was great, so very comfortable and friendly. Excellent room. The restaurant and food were brilliant. The staff could not be bettered.
