In all honesty it was a little dated and needed a revamp

The venue is great and the building is steeped in history.

The windows were meant to be soundproofed but one of the sliding panels in our room was missing. The curtains were not hanging properly and needed attention. The decoration left something to be desired with holes and cracks in our walls.

The location of the hotel is fantastic. the hotel is clean and comfortable.

Hotel seemingly attracts a bit of a "rough" crowd Rooms are very old (as one might expect in a hotel like this) Rooms show lots of signs of shoddy repair work and hallways that could use new carpets or a deep clean etc.

Great location Love the history etc. of the hotel and some of the old charm it has Staff is reasonably friendly Rooms reasonably clean, no dust mould or anything that set my allergies off or made me concerned for my health While not amazing its definitely far from the worst hotel in the Uk, the reputation it has is clearly a bit exaggerated

So basically I didn’t like the fact our time that we chose to check in got changed as it ruined mine and my partners plans… we had a meal booked for 3pm as we did state that we wanted to be checked in for around 1/2pm but it got changed to 3pm and we had to cancel our meal we had already booked for which was upsetting… and I didn’t like how hot the room got, it felt like we couldn’t get enough air into the room and the heating was full blasting which made it uncomfortable.

I liked how close it was to the city centre and I liked how clean and comfortable it was, the staff was also very nice to :)

Just so shabby. Poor quality furnishings that were tired and a bit grubby but the building itself is magnificent and the beds were clean, the water hot and we both slept well. For the price you can’t expect luxury even in a once luxurious setting.

A very grand building which has seen better days but in a brilliant location. Furnishings old and tired but clean and functional. This place has character and charm but is rather run down. As we only wanted a bed for a night it was fine but it has so much potential. However at the price it is difficult to justify too much criticism. I liked it.

I HAD PLANNED DINNER WITH MY SISTER AT YOUR HOTEL. I WAS VISITING LIVERPOOL FROM AUSTRALIA AND WANTED TO SPEND OUR LIMITED TIME TOGETHER. ON THE 17TH JUNE THE MAIN COURSE RAN OUT OF FOOD. MY SISTER SAT ALONE EATING HER MEAL WHILE I WAS STILL WAITING FOR FOOD SUPPLY TO ARTIVE AT THE SERVERY ABOUT 20MINS. OTHER CUSTOMERS WERE WAITING AND COMPLAINING, INTERNATIONAL VISITORS. I DID BRING IT TO THE STAFF ATTENTION. ASKED TO SEE MANAGER. VISITERS DO NOT GO TO A RESTRAUNT JUST TO EAT ITS FOR HUMAN ENJOYMENT, CONNECTION AND CONVERSATION TOO. THE HOTEL IN NEED OF REFURNISHMENT.

I FELT SAFE, I WAS TRAVELING ALONE. THE ROOM WAS IN A QUIET LOCATION. CLEAN SHEETS AND TOWELS. CONSTANT HOT WATER.

There was not a ramp to access the lobby and it is difficult with luggage, almost no staff for the amount of people booking that weekend, going to the room with luggage was hard, the lift took a long time; there were two big and heavy doors in the hallways, and then you enter the room and there is another door with no stopper to go to the bed part, the door slammed easily and you could hear all the doors from the rooms slamming late at night. There was not wifi at all. The restaurant hours were insufficient. Only one outlet to plug your phone.

It's a bit shabby and needs an upgrade. The room did not justify the price paid for it. Always a challenge to find a room in Liverpool, but particularly the weekend of the Taylor Swift concert.

Historic hotel with previous glamour in evidence. Spectacular rooms downstairs in the communal areas. Extremely well located.

The hotel clearly needs renovation. The bath and the toilet old noisee and though clean feels not clean. Needs better noise insulation.

Check in was fast. Room sizd, bed, clean. The staff checks who comes into the hotel at night which is very good. I was able to leave the luggage in a room till my train. Good location.

As property is old you can hear people in other rooms walking around and closing doors. Could also hear noise from street below. Radiator was on permanently in room and couldn’t turn it off so was very hot. Radiator also made noise while it was on when trying to sleep. Not the cleanest - not filthy but can tell it is old.

Great location in city centre and round corner from train station. Fine for one night stay.

The hotel was cheaper for a night than the meal we went out for. Hard to find fault with it at that price.

You get what you pay for. Yes, the hotel is dated but our room was comfortable and clean and was a great place to base ourselves for a night. Blast from the past with Shining vibes but we enjoyed our stay.
