The room was very clean , I think they have upgraded some of the furniture as well. There was a very polite male member of reception staff which made a change , a good asset to the team .

The bed was a mish mash of two different beds , The bathroom was very tired , and shower leaked Part of bathroom floor was gaffer taped down badly. I had asked if there was anything they could do to make it special as it was my partners birthday, nothing was forth coming. There was a lack of staff leading to ques when checking in / out Breakfast was disappointing , with overcooked Bacon and undercooked eggs. Lack of fruit / pastries The communal areas could do with a deep clean and look tired and lots of dust which is a shame as could be so beautiful.

Close to the venue we were going to Bar prices pretty good however as they had a wedding we couldn’t get any food despite menus on the tables

Great base, right next to the train station. We were going to the empire theatre, and it was literally 2 minutes away. The building inside was really unexpected for the price we paid. It was so lovely.

Everywhere smelled awful. Musty in the bar, urine near the toilets. Strong smell of rubber on the 3rd floor, felt nauseous. We had to purchase internet individually at £7.00 each. The room was £92, and parking was £13, so not cheap for this old, dated hotel. The room did not have a working tv and the toilet did not flush. Luckily it was easy to change rooms.

The building was amazing stunning that's it.

Most definitely not disabled friendly yes there's a back entrance buzzer wait for staff (if raining soaked) couldn't use restaurant for breakfast as flight of stairs also put in back room away from other customers so no possible way of eating to had to go out and pay more money lifts not big enough for wheelchairs so had to constantly wait for empty one. No signs telling customers to be quite late at night was woken at 4am by very drunk couple who shouted verbal abuse at me when I asked for consideration. Instead sworn at. No offer of help with luggage etc nobody to help so struggling with myself in wheelchair plus bags etc. Yes the actual building is stunning and possibly a listed one but at least help your customers.

How run down and poor the workmanship was in the room,

Rooms are very dated, needs alot of TLC though the rooms and bathrooms are spacious. Excellent location.

The fan in the room was very dirty . Staff also refused to issue a VAT receipt for my stay despite explaining that I need it to be able to submit my expenses report. Only one lamp was working in the room

Breakfast could be a bit more warmer. More choice. Juice need constant topping up thru to the end even for late comers. Bacon was overcooked and not soft. Fried eggs were overdone and hard. Towels not changed for 3 days and toilet tissues not enough to last 3 days. No telephone in room. No fridge in room. Not enough tea n coffee n sugar n milk saches to last 3 days. No eve restaurant dinner supper menu Car parking additional £39 to pay is very pricy considering we had to leave car on gravel outside. Sea gulls droppings on top and windscreen and window sides spoilt our car and it was disgusting to get in. Refund of car park charges please? It cost a lot to clean our car.

There were two or three stays where I'd booked a double room for me and my partner and had two single beds pushed together which can be uncomfortable. Also a few times in the winter we had no heating which made the room pretty cold, other than that no complaints.

It has everything that's needed from the facilities, staff, and the hotel itself and the value for money.

Although the room was clean and comfortable, the wallpaper was coming away from the wall. The skirting board was damaged. The outside of the window, there were cigarette ends. Bar could be open longer at night
