Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomInstead of a king size bed it's two single beds, which is not mentioned in the ad, but that's nothing major.
Quiet location, 10 min walk to the city centre. Facilities were great, as it's self check in getting in was easy despite me arriving outside usual check in hours. Plenty of snacks and breakfast items available in the room. I will definitely be back!

United KingdomThe only issue I had was the shower. It wouldn't stay hot without messing with the knobs. Other than that the room was fantastic.
The location was fantastic. The little touch of having breakfast items also was lovely.

Everything was great, super easy communication with the staff (Jeremy) and very clear info for check in. My room was the perfect size for me but I think it would be great for a couple too. At a walking distance from the city centre and the lovely sea promenade. Lovely neighborhood. Thank you very much for hosting me!

United KingdomBecause space is tight there is only the bed to sit on and because it is a nice soft bed it is difficult for me at 66 to negotiate a sitting position against the wall. I can't think there of an answer for this but I manage.
The check in procedure is simple and the room is exceptionally clean. There is a welcome pack of beverages so you can sit and make a "cuppa" at the end of your journey without opening a bag. There is always a couple of bottles of water in the chiller as well. The room is pretty well soundproofed from the rest of the building. I was in a single room and space is tight but acceptable. Security entry to the building gives confidence, and WiFi is excellent. Bedding exemplary.

PortugalWe stayed in Room 5 which is a small double. We knew this when we booked but with hindsight we would have been better booking a larger room as although the room was fine the bathroom was on the small size and the shower was very small which was not ideal for my partner.
Correspondence with the host was seamless both before and during our stay. We were given all the information that was needed in an easy to understand format and any questions we did have were quickly answered. The guest house is located in a quiet street and yet very close to everything and well placed for public transport. The welcome pack was much appreciated. The room was clean and tidy and warm. Although the guest house had other guests in residence it was very quiet and our sleep was not disturbed. We would stay here again if we returned to Brighton but would book a different room.

United KingdomThe shower was a little snug. That's all .
Our host Jeremy was beyond helpful , he welcomed us warmly and explained flawlessly how to check in and it was very easy and efficient, I let him know about some minor issues and he was extremely kind and understanding even providing us with wonderful solution even though our stay was short only lasting two days. We felt welcomed throughout our entire stay. The showers have good water pressure and the room are well equipped with amenities, including a TV, microwave in on of the rooms ( we swapped rooms on the second night) , the mini fridge was stocked with a satisfactory amount of water , and there was no shortage of biscuits snacks and drinks both hot and cold. The bed was comfortable and the heater was efficient meaning we did not get cold in the night time.

everything. location was brilliant, could see the water and picturesque townhouse lined street from my room. communication was fast and effective. all requests met (parking sorted for four days with a cpl of hours notice from me) and more (late checkout offered without requesting, provided midstay housekeeping without charge or request). clearly care about their beautiful hotel and ensuring guests have the the most enjoyable stay. couldn’t recommend enough. Kent town is by far the nicest area that is central as well. littered with cute cafes and wide variety of high quality restaurants as well as local grocers, boutiques and more. i hesitated staying here because the price was cheaper and blue facade made me think it would be on the lower end of bnb and so unclean or worn down, as many have become. it was anything but, immaculately clean, well equipped and plush comfy bed. I wasn’t planning to come back to Brighton but will be coming back just to stay here.

United KingdomParking was a problem downstairs. Have to park very far if you have suit cases then it was not convenient. Matress was not very confortable but okay for a short stay.
We came for Brighton College entrance exams and this property's location is excellent, close to the centre and 8 minutes walk to the school. Also very close to the beach, and not long drive to the white cliffs, we did enjoy the afternoon after the exams. Owner Jeremy was extreamly helpful.
