Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe room wasn't very clean, the curtain was held up by nails and not a curtain rail, one of the rooms we had was boiling hot and had to use the bin to keep the window open, that room was very dingy and not great lighting, shower took ages for the water to drain away down the plug so was standing in ankle high water, the hotel itself was very dark and dingy, the campbed in our room only half a very thin like mattress topper on it so not even a proper mattress. Net curtains were filthy and the lampshades had a inch thick layer of dust, 2 of our party has been bitten by something from that room, no hairdryer, mattress and pillows were badly stained.
The location was perfect, very short walk from the seafront.

United Kingdom-Missleading B&B. Says Brighton B&B and Hot Tub! The hot tubs were not working and thats the selling point and the main reason we booked it. Then we are told they are broken but when they are working its £20 per person. I dont think that you should be expected to pay that amount on top of your stay. You should include the spa into the cost. Then i was constantly texted around 5 Times being asked if i wanted to pay extra for checking in early or out later. Signs everywhere in the room asking you to pay extra £10 for every extra hour you stay. This was a very incomfortablr place for us. Reqding tjat everywhere. Very pushy trying to make a few bucks extra put of your guests at every turn. Invorrect wifit signs on the rooms. Anout 20 different wifi codes for each room. Very unesesary. Only one cup for teas and coffees. The front doors did not lock. We felt very insafe in the building whilst it would not lock. Felt lack of any human interaction and a company that sheerly only buisness for financial gain. Not for customer csre or satisfaction had to also pay £3 just to be texted the codes into the property. Overal very missleading and a company only interestef in profits and not customers experience.
Comfortable and clean beds. Nice shower gels. Good shower

United KingdomDark and dingy. The spa and hot tubs out of action. Fair bit of damage in the room and had a security deposit 2/3 times more than I paid for the room. List long as your arm about fines if things are missing or damaged. Three flights up. Tv didn’t work.

United KingdomThe remote control for the television did not work. One of the hotel workers replaced the batteries in it and the TV came on, but after he left I discovered there was no aerial connected and I was not able to get any channels. The other disappointment was there being no wi-fi. I was told that the internet was "down" due to people working on the road outside, but reading other reviews it would seem that it's down all the time! I'm not able to access the internet on my phone so I was counting on being able to use it at the hotel. Although what I paid was relatively cheap for the area, I do think the management should make sure they provide what was promised in their hotel listing. I won't be returning!
The room was small but had most things I needed. The bed was comfortable and I had a good nights sleep. It was quite hot at night, but there was a fan in the room.

United KingdomBelieve the other reviews here: Scruffy, dirty, small (really small), stuffy. Communication is ridiculous, 15 e-mails in 2 days generally saying the same thing from them, just have a mass of information making navigating awful to find information you need. Any question you ask gets you a reply with the full FAQ each time so you have to dig through and scroll through so much unnecessary information. The online check in system didn't work the first few try's and even after completed it I didn't receive any information for access. Had to message as they didn't answer the phone. WIFI didn't work and no reply regarding any alternative access for other routers for the building. Windows filthy and grimey. Bed is very small but i didnt mind it as much the small room wasnt the worst, and kind of expected for a "budget" hotel in Brighton. For the price there should be a certain level of comfort and service provided which this hotel lacked greatly. Only really recommend if you plan to sleep and leave.
location Not too much street noise either here but still easy access to prime spots. Although you will hear a lot of corridor noise.

United KingdomIt's a self check in hotel which is fine but they don't change the door codes so when we walked in an old guest from months ago had accessed the room and was staying in there and was asleep on the bed! The hotel staff didn't seem surprised. I suggest you change the door codes as it wasn't acceptable and didn't feel safe. The staff did however come and change the bedding upon request
The location was fabulous

United KingdomIn booking.com they didn’t mention any point about deposit. A day before checking they sent an SMS for £100 deposit and at the checking time they deducted £200 for deposit!!!
The check in process was complicated and it was awful that there was no access to a present human over there to answer questions and help. Our room wasn’t ready at the checking time, while the hotel has a policy of charging for early or late check in! So if you arrive early/late you should pay but when you arrive on time and the room is not ready …! Also shower wasn’t clean
