Very pleased with this stop, more than I normally like to pay but free parking, near to town and football ground, excellent variety of real ale and room very tastefully furnished. Thoroughly enjoyable stop in a town offering lot of real ale outlets

Unfortunately on the Friday night in the restaurant there were no staff around to take orders we waited over 25mins,so left the restaurant disappointed and hungry.

Our room was at the top of very steep stairs with low head room. The view from our window was of scaffolding, not very nice . As there was only one pillow, I asked for another only to be told there wasn’t any !

Continental breakfasts were very meagre- very limited range of fruit and cereals, croissant available but not every day. Had to ask for tea bags for the bedroom. Some staff could do with extra training.

Very comfortable bed. attractive bedroom, very good location, large car park. Excellent cooked breakfasts: good veggie breakfast; poached eggs on muffins; pancakes with fruit and maple syrup Most of the staff were friendly and helpful.

The sound from downstairs really carries into the room and we asked for the music to be turned down (it was hard to relax in the room especially in the morning when the loud music came on at around 8 am) - the music was turned right down which we really appreciated but this seems to be an issue with this room in particular, and the placement of the speakers directly beneath. The room was otherwise great and this is just something people should be aware of when booking this room.

The room was beautiful - a lot of thought and care has gone into the design and it looks lovely. Very spacious room. The bathroom is quirky and pretty with lovely stained glass windows. The breakfast was nice and the staff were friendly and helpful. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay.

The floor in the bedroom sloped so the head of our bed was lower than our feet. But it was a period room so understandable.

I kept getting stuck in and out of the room as they have a strange locking system for the doors, no key or keycard, it's all electronic.

The room was lovely, beds were comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and staff were friendly. I went for a walk on the beach in the morning which was close-by.

Wobbly Loo seat, exposed wiring on Smoke alarm, not sure it was working! Scraped paintwork, Shower not draining properly, no bottle opener for the beer!

As above, more variety of fruit and bread.

Breakfast was adequate, however im more a continental breakfast fan. I would have liked a few more fruit choices rather than just banana or apple. For example berries, melon? Also only white bread, brown, granery, soughdough would have been a bonus. However for people who favour a cooked breakfast there would have been few complaints, looked very nice.

Room could have been cleaner and was a bit tired. Stains on ceiling and carpet. Dirty class in bathroom.

Food was good, beer masterclass was interesting and staff were helpful and polite. Room was warm and bed comfortable.

No staff overnight on one of the nights, we were made aware but just felt a little odd if anyone needed anything.

Breakfast was amazing. 10 minutes from train station to get into Brighton. Really comfortable. Friendly staff. Would definitely stay again.

The room was small and sloping roof made it difficult to get around very dusty the shower was superb but no light made it difficult to see
