Friendly and helpful staff, good location for visiting East Sussex.

We had an infestation of wasps on opening the window , which was totally rotten . We had paid for an extra bed which was a camp bed ! The noise on Saturday night was unbelievable there was a band on which felt like it was in our room on the top floor , and constant people talking outside . The area was so unkept, the stair rail was filthy and the garden was so unkept . Will not stay again

Everywhere tatty decor, staff inattentive.

Large bath, lots of hot water, nice big towel, beds comfortable. Location good for us.

No AC in rooms making the night unbearably hot during the warmer weather. Bathroom need some TLC, pipes were leaking below the basin, taps were hit and miss in operation and the drains did not open sufficiently to discharge the water.

Nice location, bar and restaurant was convenient and reasonably priced.

The staff were so friendly and as I stayed one my own it was a god send. Place has a lot of character, shame they don’t do breakfast every day. However there is an amazing breakfast just across the road. Also had an amazing curry in the restaurant.

Tired decor and fittings a bit tatty. Didn't try the restaurant, it seemed to be to close to a busy bar with sports TV.

No breakfast, explained at reception as because short-staffed. Receptionist friendly and apologetic. Beds very comfortable, excellent shower.

Bit dated. The bathroom really needed a face-lift (the caulking in the shower was clearly old and stained, made it look dirty even though it was clean). Restaurant was closed despite being advertised as open online.

There was no food provided in the hotel even though the restaurant area looked nice. There was a very good cafe 5 mins walk away where we had bret and an excellent Indian restaurant.

The location is good for walks around Ashdown Forest and is easy to get to . The parking was good , the hotel car park had ample spaces. The room was a good size and comfortable.

the location is great and the parking space at the back of the hotel convenient and usually not full. Our room was quiet at the back of the hotel. My bed was a little spongy, so might be worth updating the twin beds and even though we had the window open most of the time, apart from when it was raining, the room was very stuffy and warm. Apart from that, all good.

Didn't like the huge potholes when entering the car park. Bathroom needs a bit of an update. Restaurant wasn't open.

Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Receptionist checked me in quickly and the barman showed me to my room. Room had a safe and a fridge which would be useful to some people. Room was big enough.
